I have been working at Tribal Worldwide full-time

    Pros

Great jr. to senior people who are trying (and failing) to turn around the sinking ship.

    Cons

Lack of transparency. Poor leadership. Excessive client loss. Layoffs regardless of work quality and done haphazardly with no rhyme or reason for why that person was let go. Incompetence reigns.

    Advice to Management

Transparency goes a long way. So does actually caring about employees and not just treating them like irrelevant chess pieces

I worked at Tribal Worldwide full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The DDB agencies use the legacy of Bill Bernbach to truly teach a fundamental shared philosophy about what makes great advertising. I learned a lot.

    Cons

The whole concept of Tribal was initiated when digital lived in silos. Now, the world is integrated and there's really no point for this subdivision to exist.

    Advice to Management

Re-org. Why have a silo agency that doesn't do anything specialized.

    Pros

    Happy hour Wednesdays, Bagel Thursdays

    Cons

Very poor management that don't care about employee morale or goals. There is extremely high turnover and the future doesn't look bright.

There are some really smart, talented people that are a blast to work with.

    Cons

Feels like DDB is behind the scenes pulling the strings.

    Advice to Management

    KEEP FIGHTING THE GOOD FIGHT.

I worked at Tribal Worldwide full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Matt Freeman was an exceptional CEO and under his leadership, Tribal couldn't be beat. I met some of the best professionals I've ever met in my career and worked on great brands.

    Cons

Everything has fallen apart since 2008-2009. The flagship Chicago office is all but gone, and NY is notorious for being a horrible place to work.

    Advice to Management

Change upper management., not just at Tribal but at DDB as well.

    Pros

When I worked there, there were good brands and great people. The digital department was in much need of better talent

    Cons

The salaries were not at parity with the rest of the industry. There was high-turnover.

    Advice to Management

    Higher better digital talent.

I worked at Tribal Worldwide full-time

    Pros

    - Friendly people
    - Great creative concepts
    - relaxed environment

    Cons

    - Worst management team of any agency I have worked at
    - Favoritism runs rampant in account management (if you aren't on the in - then you are on the outside)
    - Review system for financial decisions was as good as holding you finger to the wind and guessing their mood of the day

    Advice to Management

    - Get it over with and merge with DDB (it's inevitable)
    - Stop fighting with the studio and share resources - you could both get so much further than you ever will separately
    - Listen to your account and team leads who actually talk to the client and know the situation
    - Hold the line and support your team rather than caving to the client each and every time (making your account team look like idiots in the process)

I worked at Tribal Worldwide full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

friendly people, easy to feel comfortable as an outsider. occasionally you may get an interesting project.

    Cons

incredibly disorganized. account cannot manage client and as a result there are unreasonable demands placed on creative. there seems to be a real lack of respect for employees from senior management. so many people have left--as well as accounts--there is a feeling of it being a sinking ship.

    Advice to Management

respect your employees more. find out what bothers them. start saving your company by listening to your foot soldiers.

    Pros

It's smaller than you think, so you get to do more than whatever your job title says that you do. lots of open communication and everyone knows each other. Good vibes - definitely reinventing itself in 2011 - 2012.

    Cons

sometimes we're under matched and not staffed enough for the jobs we have. People try their hardest, but at a certain point you can't play the game without the right equipment.

    Advice to Management

    Keep pushing, we'll get there.
