I worked at Trimont Real Estate Advisors full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Decent benefits. People are for the most part good people, dedicated to providing quality service.

    Cons

New leadership is arrogant and not in touch with the real business. Disappointed at the lack of understanding of our business. Company is becoming a pack of the CEO's buddies, and not the quality, experienced employees we used to have. So glad I left.

    Advice to Management

Take time to learn the business, don't recreate what is not broken. The clients we have are based on years of relationships and delivering service that far exceeds the competition. And stop hiring your buddies that have no experience.

I have been working at Trimont Real Estate Advisors as a contractor (Less than a year)

    Pros

It is a beautiful office located in Buckhead. Free coffee and sodas. Some friendly people. People speak very highly of the Company.

    Cons

My challenge at TriMont was training was not accurate at times lack of communications. Busy the first two weeks of the month other times not much to do. Not very structure environment sometime very confusing . Too laid back for my taste. I prefer to stay busy it makes the day go by faster.

    Advice to Management

Look at whom you have training . I would suggestion someone who is not all over the place. Very confusing to train with someone who doesn't communicate well.

I have been working at Trimont Real Estate Advisors full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

The salaries are good but not great (former colleagues have received good-sized raises at new jobs) and the benefits are pretty good. The environment is family-friendly and most of the employees are nice folks. All in all, the culture is okay.

    Cons

Trimont Real Estate Advisors is a good company but could be a great company with more proactive executive leadership.

    Advice to Management

The company succeeds in spite of the lack of direction or communication from its principals because the company is full of very smart real estate professionals. The company leadership seems unaware of, or doesn't care about, the deep talent it has on its bench and seems content to let mid and upper level employees seek better opportunities elsewhere rather than nurturing and harnessing that talent in-house to pursue or develop new opportunities that would benefit the company.

I have been working at Trimont Real Estate Advisors full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, good culture, work life balance is attainable.
Trimont allows for a relaxed atmosphere, where employees are allowed some discretion in their time commitment. The culture is respectful towards its employees and positively benevolent.

    Cons

Below market salaries, uncertain future, few growth opportunities –Since the loss of the client Lehman Brothers, the firm has struggled to find comparably paying clients and is floundering with its identity. The firm originally focused on real estate complex finance, but now endeavors to do anything in the RE world from essentially property management to small balance collections. The firm is now focused defining its role in the commercial real estate space, but what that currently and succinctly is at the current time, I couldn’t say.

    Advice to Management

    Nail down a business plan
