I have been working at Trine University full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Trine University has a great enviroment for improvement and a rewarding atmosphere. The University is held together by many wonderful people who all play a huge role in the whole experience. I would definitely work there again!!

    Cons

Maybe pay could be considered a Con, but they make up for it with great benefits that go beyond a typical health, dental, 401K. Like Education for your whole household, games, events, and food discounts.

I worked at Trine University full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Many lower level employees are genuinely nice and try to help one another.

    Cons

If you are not a man, working here will be miserable. No upward mobility for women. Very racist and discriminatory place to work.

    Advice to Management

    Diversity training, respect women!

    Pros

At a small school you have a lot of freedom to create programming. At Trine University it is easy to collaborate with faculty and staff members. They offer insight into their specific areas and are willing to help you. We have wonderful staff in our grounds and housekeeping departments that keep the university clean and well maintained. The people who set up for events are especially helpful and flexible when changes need to be made at the last minute.

    Cons

There are not enough resources such as administrative help for many departments.

    Advice to Management

People who work hard everyday but aren't in the most visible positions don't get thanked or appreciated enough.

    Pros

I love learning and as a professor I am allowed to constantly learn and explore with my students. They pay me to do my favorite activity.

    Cons

Long late hours and pay that is based on number of students.

    Advice to Management

    Continue to grow the facility.

I worked at Trine University full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great staff and faculty. Everyone is full of energy and a desire to help others. The hours can be long but flexible. Working in higher education is a rewarding field. You get to help others realize their educational goals!

    Cons

There is a 'git-er-done' attitude which can ultimately lead to long hours. Each campus is run with little to now leadership. The budgets are wired tight therefore there is little to no marketing dollars. Additionally, the lack of funds prevents the upper management from having the resources (including time) to visit campuses and provide support as needed.

    Advice to Management

Trine University should provide more resources to the Dean. This will free up time for him/her to visit the campuses regularly and better understand the individual dynamics. Provide marketing ventures aside from the "word of mouth" and other free options.
