    Pros

    –SAA colleagues are all well–selected students. Nearly all are highly involved on campus and are genuinely interesting people.

    Cons

    –SAA supervisor could (at times) expect too much from students' schedules

    Team tends to be pretty supportive. Large enough group (when fully staffed) to collaborate well.

    Cons

    Poor communication throughout departments, tends to be a catty/cliquey environment, alumni difficult to deal with.

    great people, great environment. good place if you like college environment.

    PAY IS EXTREMELY LOW for non-exempt staff

    Advice to Management

    provide better training opportunities for non-exempt staff and give them better pay

    Friendly people to work with, easy atmosphere, lots of hands-on experience

    Department wastes money on things we don't need and then tries to balance the budget by cutting things we do.

    Be okay with disappointing faculty and non-technical staff and make decisions based on the advice of IT professionals.

    Mentoring and teaching some of the smartest students in the world
    Great 401K
    Competitive salaries (on the high end)
    the administration is open to ideas

    Cons

    the parking on campus is not good
    the City of Hartford is a little sketchy, but not really an issue on campus
    the health care benefits are very expensive
