    Advice to Management

    Solid senior leadership
    Diversfied in several industries
    Acquisition, growth oriented

Can be slow to make decisions. Not a stuck-in-the-past mindset as one might expect from a company that started in the railcar industry.

    Pros

Great company to work for. Great communication if the upper management has information it is passed the hourly employee. Pay is great especially for the area, Benefits are good, and Team enviroment. Plant manager genuinely cares for his employees a great boss to work for.

    Cons

non-climate controled enviroment. sometimes long hours.

    Advice to Management

need more stringent hiring process, this should help eliminate applicants that could become a liabilty to the company.

I have been working at Trinity Industries full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The diversified portfolio of products shows the longevity of this company. People are very friendly and has the old school professional business environment where everyone says hello to each other in the hall. You can tell employees genuinely like working with together – there are celebrations for birthdays, births, and pictures of "inside jokes" on cubes and offices.

The Dallas headquarter location is great too - just north of downtown with easy access to uptown, downtown, and a short ride to Addison.

    Cons

The pace internally can feel a little slow at times, but it's because there is such a focus on quality and setting up measurements for success. That's really not a con but can feel a little frustrating at times if you are use to a different pace.

    Advice to Management

Thank you for keeping employees informed. Good internal communications with updates on changes in the org or community service events.

    Pros

Excellent pay and great hours, with benefits and paid vacation and holidays

    Cons

Enjoy my job heat is extreme in summer though need extra tools and parts when there is a issue.

    Advice to Management

Maybe keep and parts and tool up to date so lines would not get behind and cause line to move slow.

I have been working at Trinity Industries full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great pay and chances to get pay increases...nice bonuses checks every three months

    Cons

Last minute notices about working overtime is a daily habit!
Scheduled overtime every week leaves workers with no personal time
Leadworkers don't work, just stand around and delegate work to same employees
Safety meetings and paperwork every week is redundant!!

    Advice to Management

Need more 40 hr work weeks to allow workers to enjoy family and personal time
Can get more production if everyone worked together
Stop all the Unnecessary safety paperwork

    Pros

Trinity is one of the leading steel manufactures in the world and this makes it one of the most stable and lucrative companies t work for.

    Cons

All cons depend on the person telling the story.

    Advice to Management

Any one in management where ever you find yourself at Trinity or not must be true to yourself and your own core values, and above all be straight forward.

I have been working at Trinity Industries full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

the pay is decent but not great, work with quite a few good co-workers which is a great plus, and there is plenty of over time which is nice to pay bills

    Cons

not enough employees, pay could be better, have to listen to some co-workers complain, quite a few workers dont pull their weight when others are doing there job

    Advice to Management

find a way to get more people in the door and find a way to raise moral in the shop, and also find a way to keep the current workforce there some guys say they are leaving after they get their 5 years in. management also needs to get with union stewards and find a way to get rid of some of the slackers that think they can do what ever they want just because of the union
