I have been working at Tripp Lite full-time for more than 6 years

      Pros

Over the years that I have worked for Tripp Lite I have been provided numerous opportunities and recognized for my hard work. The company has a tried-and-true product line and a good reputation with customers and partners. It rewards employees with bonuses (annually and for record months) as well as holiday and summer company parties. The people I work with are great and I can sincerely say I enjoy coming to work every...

      Cons

401k match should be improved, and there are a lot of processes that are paper-based that should be converted to be done electronically (although this is happening slowly). Remote employees can sometimes feel they are on an island.

      Advice to Management

The company is full of good people. Continue to encourage their professional growth and it will keep morale high.

I have been working at Tripp Lite full-time for more than 9 years

      Pros

Tripp Lite has a casual environment yet is full of people who are serious about their jobs. Many employees stick around their whole career- talent is generally recognized and rewarded. Work-life balance is as good as it gets. Room for advancement or movement within the company. Company has grown every year since employed.

      Cons

Lack of 401k match. Can be behind on embracing technology at times.

      Advice to Management

Work on becoming less paper-dependent in certain areas.

      Pros

Great Work Life Balance! Tripp Lite recognizes that people make the organization and keeping employees happy and healthy helps to improve the bottom line, keeps you motivated and makes it easy to come to work. Even when you have to work a few extra hours the fun activities throughout the year sponsored by the wellness committee help to keep your stress at a minimum and your outlook positive. I’m sure this has helped...

I worked at Tripp Lite full-time for more than 4 years

      Pros

The holiday and summer parties were fantastic. I enjoyed the people I worked directly with and gained a few life long friends. They do a great job of showing gratitude with bonuses. This is a greater starter company for someone just out of college or transitioning to an office job.

      Cons

It has been almost two years since I worked at Tripp Lite and I hate to say it, but I do not regret leaving. When I first started it was a great job! I was transitioning from working in hospitality to an office job and I was happy to have a 9-5 for the first time in my life. A few years in is when I took my rose colored glasses off. I started to notice a few issues. Benefits: While I first thought they were great,...

      Advice to Management

If you are saying "we have always done it this way" for any part of the business then you are doing something wrong. Hold managers accountable, don't work people to the bone, update your compensation and benefits, invest in a better version of Salesforce, encourage change, ask people who do the job what could be done better and implement their suggestions. Tripp Lite can return to being a great company to work for...

I worked at Tripp Lite full-time for more than 9 years

      Pros

I am thankful for my time at Tripp Lite. I learned from a great leader and was recognized and promoted for hard work. VP of Channel Sales recognized top sales people and hard workers through positive recognition, sales contests, and quarterly awards. He worked closely with me on my professional development and to build a progression plan for internal promotion. The channel sales team was provided the technical resources,...

      Cons

Overall company culture was "old school" in many ways. When I worked there, there were paper signature approval processes, approval required at highest level for low dollar amounts, and benefits need improvement (parental leave, vacation time, richer 401K match). Like most smaller companies, there is a greater opportunity to be recognized, but as you move closer to the top,...

I have been working at Tripp Lite

      Pros

Tripp Lite is a big company, but the employees are treated as if it's a 'mom and pop' shop. I believe the president knows everyone by name, or at least that seems to be a goal of his. The personal touch makes a big difference in morale. There are lots of opportunities to grow, and I have taken good advantage of that. The work environment is casual, but make no mistake - the work requirements are not casual at all....

      Cons

Overall, the benefits are quite good. Health insurance is really good, compared to some of my peers in other companies, but the 401K match could be improved. Still, overall, very good benefits.

I have been working at Tripp Lite full-time

      Pros

      Reasonable pay and reasonable hours.

      Cons

No opportunity for advancement. There is widespread nepotism in leadership positions across multiple positions, crippling areas like marketing, human resources, and production. I can understand hiring relatives from time to time, but it is widespread at Tripp Lite. While pay is good, benefits are poor. There is no 401K match and the time off policy is poor with sick days...

I worked at Tripp Lite full-time

      Pros

The Base Salary at Tripp Lite was great, they give an annual cash bonus which is nice. Engineering team/Presales engineers are great.

      Cons

The commission structure is a joke, I would hit well over 100% of my goal and only receive 20% of the payout. They have unrealistic expectations on growth goals. Benefits are horrible, 401k Match is terrible. Management is out of the loop and are unqualified to do their jobs. All management is very unprofessional and constantly makes inappropriate comments.
