I worked at Tripp Lite full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Friendly co-workers. Tripplite definitely has some great people working at the company who are at good at their jobs, friendly, and will assist when possible if you ask. Work hours, you won't find people complaining about the hours as they are very reasonable. Much more reasonable than you're likely intial offer and 401K. The CEO is well liked, but other than the initial Interview never had to work with. Great...

Overview of the program: The first, usually, at least 12 months, you work "post-sales". It's supposed to be possible to be less, never heard of it happening. It's tech support. You take calls from people yelling at you for broken products for 12 months while being micromanaged, not sure how that helps you in sales. The Post-Sales training on products is useful, and you'll shadow sales teams to get a basic understanding...

    Advice to Management

Consider either cancelling the program or having the program reps start in Pre-sales and have post-sales training and be promoted from Pre-Sales as a starting point. HAVE SALES GUYS MAKE SALES WITHIN THE FIRST 12 MONTHS! While I strongly fear this review will fall on deaf ears at Tripp Lite for changes to be made to the program, I hope it serves to help those who use Glass door for an honest review.

I worked at Tripp Lite full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Most people are friendly, no other pros

    Cons

They hire inexperienced management. I've never had a manager that was as lazy as this. He was on his cell phone 95% of the time on personal call, texting, and watching sports. He micromanages and listens in on your calls and IM's you telling you what to say. Manager also walked in 30-40 minutes late every day, took 2-3 hour lunches, and was rarely available. When in the office he was on his phone. He is not open to...

    Advice to Management

Hire people with real leadership skills or people who have managed in the past. Open your doors for employees to actually feel comfortable addressing issues.

I worked at Tripp Lite full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Great product set to sell, excellent presales support.

    Cons

Management can be difficult to deal with when your presenting outside-the-box thinking. Pay is below average for the numbers/effort that has to be put in to obtain them.

    Advice to Management

Trust your people, be open to new ideas

I worked at Tripp Lite full-time for less than a year

    Pros

Good work life balance Lots of perks for corporate based employees Great Health Benefits Strong customer following

    Cons

Private company that is way to conservative when it comes to investing to grow business Archaic processes for travel, everything is still done via printed memos that require layers of signatures Hire smart people and then tell them what to do instead of allowing the employees to run their business as needed Sales Departments are silo'd and compete against one another. Not uncommon for someone from another sales department...

    Advice to Management

Same as what others have said before, needless process and paperwork will bury any chance of real exponential growth unless you really invest in the channel. Open up the lines of communication between departments, promote collaboration and stop putting up road blocks in sales who's only purpose are to ensure you do not pay out more than absolutely needed on sales revenue.
