I worked at Tripp Lite full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

    Paid weekly, with holidays off.

    Cons

Very ineffective leadership at the Director level and VP level in the Channel organization. Current leadership at that level is very insecure and seems to bash former employees and only brag about their own accomplishments. Not an effective way to run a sales organization.

    Advice to Management

Embrace technology and embrace your own employees. Very dependent on the channel and that loses sight on your own employees vision and accomplishments.

I have been working at Tripp Lite full-time for more than 9 years

    Pros

Tripp Lite has a casual environment yet is full of people who are serious about their jobs. Many employees stick around their whole career- talent is generally recognized and rewarded. Work-life balance is as good as it gets. Room for advancement or movement within the company. Company has grown every year since employed.

    Cons

Lack of 401k match. Can be behind on embracing technology at times.

    Advice to Management

Work on becoming less paper-dependent in certain areas.

    Pros

Great Work Life Balance! Tripp Lite recognizes that people make the organization and keeping employees happy and healthy helps to improve the bottom line, keeps you motivated and makes it easy to come to work. Even when you have to work a few extra hours the fun activities throughout the year sponsored by the wellness committee help to keep your stress at a minimum and your outlook positive. I’m sure this has helped...

I worked at Tripp Lite full-time for more than 6 years

    Pros

Tripp Lite is a great company for people who are self starters and inherently motivated. Management rarely discounts a bad idea and promotes creativity and work ethic. If you find an area you could improve or a new market with potential you are encouraged to go after it and rewarded if the results are positive. The entire time I was there Tripp showed double digit growth and gave out enormous cash bonuses every year...

    Cons

If you're looking to be babysat this place isn't for you. The freedom they give to self starters can drive people expecting structure and daily direction crazy. For every successful person there are 5 who left because they couldn't take it. Tripp isn't for everyone but for those who can operate in this environment its a place to maximize your potential and be recognized for it.

I have been working at Tripp Lite full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

Casual, laid back atmosphere and caring HR department

    Cons

Not enough opportunities for entry level positions, mostly when moving it's a lateral move with a very minimal raise, if any and not an advancement or promotion.

    Advice to Management

Try avoiding micro-managing, reward personal contributions to a team.

I have been working at Tripp Lite full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

Tripp Lite is a good place to work. You have opportunities to develop in different areas. Hard work is recognized. I really enjoy the people I work with around the company.

    Cons

The location used to have limited restaurants, but that has improved greatly.

    Advice to Management

Continue to watch out for good talent from within. Continue to look at motivation with compensation.

I worked at Tripp Lite full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

Always work, gets to learn how to use wearhouse machinery like pallet jack and forklift, cold in winter really hot in the summer.

    Cons

Awful management, Human Resources is a joke, always pressured to do overtime and if you ever say now there is consequences, management start with a plan and half way change their mind, unrealistic deadlines

    Advice to Management

Don’t take everything personal, spread the workload evenly among the workers not just a certain group of people

I worked at Tripp Lite full-time for more than 4 years

    Pros

The holiday and summer parties were fantastic. I enjoyed the people I worked directly with and gained a few life long friends. They do a great job of showing gratitude with bonuses. This is a greater starter company for someone just out of college or transitioning to an office job.

    Cons

It has been almost two years since I worked at Tripp Lite and I hate to say it, but I do not regret leaving. When I first started it was a great job! I was transitioning from working in hospitality to an office job and I was happy to have a 9-5 for the first time in my life. A few years in is when I took my rose colored glasses off. I started to notice a few issues. Benefits: While I first thought they were great,...

    Advice to Management

If you are saying "we have always done it this way" for any part of the business then you are doing something wrong. Hold managers accountable, don't work people to the bone, update your compensation and benefits, invest in a better version of Salesforce, encourage change, ask people who do the job what could be done better and implement their suggestions. Tripp Lite can return to being a great company to work for...

I worked at Tripp Lite full-time for more than 2 years

    Pros

Depending on your immediate boss, you can have a great time working here and loads of flexibility.

    Cons

Very old attitude (Good Ole Boy attitude) with regards to how the company works and lots of "paperwork" instead of putting everything online. Focus from HR is on a summer party and Christmas party and it should be on how people can get their job done and spend more time with their family.

    Advice to Management

Get with current times and allow experienced employees to make you money.

Thank you for your feedback. We agree with the burden of lots of paperwork. No one likes it and it can be a real time waster that limits productivity. Over the past year or so we have undertaken the task of digitizing much of the paper flow at Tripp Lite. While we've made good ...

I worked at Tripp Lite full-time for more than 9 years

    Pros

I am thankful for my time at Tripp Lite. I learned from a great leader and was recognized and promoted for hard work. VP of Channel Sales recognized top sales people and hard workers through positive recognition, sales contests, and quarterly awards. He worked closely with me on my professional development and to build a progression plan for internal promotion. The channel sales team was provided the technical resources,...

    Cons

Overall company culture was "old school" in many ways. When I worked there, there were paper signature approval processes, approval required at highest level for low dollar amounts, and benefits need improvement (parental leave, vacation time, richer 401K match). Like most smaller companies, there is a greater opportunity to be recognized, but as you move closer to the top, you're limited in long-term career advancement.

    Advice to Management

I encourage Tripp Lite to embrace technology to provide a more modern and efficient work environment internally.
