I have been working at Tripp Lite full-time for more than 20 years

    Pros

Casual, laid back atmosphere and caring HR department

    Cons

Not enough opportunities for entry level positions, mostly when moving it's a lateral move with a very minimal raise, if any and not an advancement or promotion.

    Advice to Management

Try avoiding micro-managing, reward personal contributions to a team.

I worked at Tripp Lite full-time

    Pros

Cares about employees Lots of employee incentives Not the kind of job you take home with you Mostly laid back atmosphere Owner and President take care of employees

    Cons

Not a lot of growth opportunities Old school mentality across the board Inter-office communications - there are too many obstacles to overcome in order to complete some pretty basic tasks - mainly expenses and anything trade show related

    Advice to Management

First, be open to change. Then, actually implement change. There is some great talent at the company and including some young blood in decision-making processes could be quite beneficial.

I have been working at Tripp Lite full-time

    Pros

Tripp Lite has been the best career move I've ever made. Tripp Lite sees it's employees as people, not just as cogs in the machine. I have never felt more valued in the work place. Office culture is laid back, but the people are sharp and professional. The company is stable and growing.

    Cons

Tripp Lite may be lack luster, in appearance, but they put emphasis where it counts- not in aesthetics.

    Advice to Management

More flexibility with vacation/personal time is my only suggestion!

I have been working at Tripp Lite full-time for more than a year

    Pros

They really care about their employees and often sponsor events. The people are fun and laid back. Christmas Party and Summer picnic.

    Cons

There is lack of organization and communication across departments. It can take a VERY long time to get help from anyone not in your bay. Also, it's a complete cubicle farm--only half cubicles, and there are no windows except by the front desk and kitchen. All of the walls are white with florescent lighting--it feels very commercial and uninviting.

    Advice to Management

Stop micromanaging. Allow us to communicate with other departments to get things done faster.

    I worked at Tripp Lite

    Pros

Good compensation as long as performance meets/exceeds expectation. Highly profitable company. Starting to invest in key management positions with high-level qualifications. Very laid back environment, for the most part.

    Cons

Highly political (old-school and long-time family groups vs. newer, more enlightened hires). Not leaders, but followers in this commodity market place (reverse engineer and produce cheaper). Personnel slow to embrace change and technology, if at all.

    Advice to Management

Upgrade (experience outside of Trippe) sales and marketing senior managers--and listen to them. Too many departments and people are not pushed nor managed to give their full and best efforts. Invest in better systems and reinforce the support for them (and requirement to use them).
