I have been working at Troux Technologies (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great culture, performance driven, outstanding community service, high degree of integrity, results oriented

    Cons

just purchased by Planview, many changes underway but good overall for the company to be integrated in a broader portfolio for long term success. This positions Planview very well for the long term play given where the market is headed.

I worked at Troux Technologies full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

    Good people to work with.

Management team makes an effort to be approachable and to will implement ideas that are not too costly.

    Interesting problems to solve

    Cons

Technology is built on an old technology stack. Not much room to grow and add skills. Once you've mastered the software it becomes much less challenging.

I have been working at Troux Technologies full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Troux is one of the best places I've worked. I sincerely appreciate the people I work with, and the team I'm a part of. The group I work with is excellent and everyone feels like they can be honest about any issues they are having. The work can be demanding but its extremely rewarding.

    Cons

There isn't much upward mobility and most high level hires come from outside the company. The raises and bonuses can be lean.

    Advice to Management

Reward hard work and long hours with bonuses and promote from within.

I have been working at Troux Technologies full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    - Catered lunches from the company happen often - Lots of cool people to work with - Flexible office dress code policies - Great compensation

    Cons

    - Easy to be overlooked unless you really try to make a name for yourself - A lot of employees work in London and are hard to track down

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work.

I worked at Troux Technologies full-time

    Pros

Most people are great, well above average for a software company. Great culture and environment. In terms of work life balance... off the chart awesome. As some would say, Troux is a lifestyle company.

    Cons

Antique technology. I left because I was afraid that my skillset would deteriorate and fall into the no-longer-desirable category. As a software developer, I don't need to always chase the latest technology/trend but I do need to keep up to certain degree. The stack here is just too ancient and after some time, with the relaxing environment, one could easily become complacent.

    Advice to Management

Run it like a software company with defined release cycle, more pressure on dev to deliver (really, give us some stress.)

I have been working at Troux Technologies full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Wonderful Development team with a wide range of skills. 95% of company does their job well and gets along. Lots of opportunities for community service and a good work life balance. Troux is mostly hell-bent on keeping their talent and will bend over backwards to do so. Senior management is trustworthy and directing company well. Good benefits. Free sodas!

    Cons

Some people are kept on board for sentimental reasons even though they clearly don't meet the standards of the team or company. Limited upward movement available.

    Advice to Management

Pre-emptive action saves time, money and frustration when compared to reaction.

I have been working at Troux Technologies full-time

    Pros

Average age/maturity/experience of employees is well above industry average for a software company; flexible work schedule; product ranked on the top tier by Forester research

    Cons

the core product needs to refresh its technology, upgrade some modules

    Advice to Management

    More ergonomic table/chairs

    Pros

Excellent technical staff, interesting work. Ego-free environment -- everybody's very helpful and there are no prima-donna personalities. Good work-life balance, with flexible schedule and fast VPN for telecommuting when needed. Competitive salaries.

    Cons

Significant technical debt in legacy code, but efforts are being made to modernize the codebase. Understaffed for the amount of work needed to achieve company goals. Upper management/marketing have in the past had difficulty aligning product requirements, features and goals to the market, resulting in dead-end and abandoned efforts; this has significantly improved recently.
