I have been working at Truckstop.com full-time for more than a year

    Pros

Since moving into a WFH environment the company has done a good job keeping communication open. During Truckstop's anniversary they sent every person a box of swag and thank yous to their homes since we couldn't all be together. Leadership communicates, celebrates wins every day and helps coach all to be better.

    Cons

system and phone issues can be frustrating.

I worked at Truckstop.com full-time for more than a year

    Pros

CEO seems to have a strong vision, and made good moves during the pandemic. There's opportunity to make money in sales, but management doesn't know how this happens, senior sales team members (that are left) are the only ones who can show you how this works.

    Cons

Mid-Level management has no idea what they're doing. They can decide commission structure is going to change and suddenly your pay check is cut into 1/3. This really happened to us. They basically are like a sorority / fraternity where they'll have events, cheer you on, socialize with other managers, but that's it the majority won't be able to help you, have no product knowledge, and the majority of them have no experience in sales, let alone experience in the department. I got lucky and had a good supervisor which is why this is a 3/5, but others I had/interfaced with were very disappointing. We would have "rallies" where you would have other managers come over to dance and play music while you tried to talk on the phones with a customer which I found unprofessional. Mid management also did a really poor job during pandemic. When Covid started they told us to use our PTO if we thought it was such a big deal, then several of them flew off to Las Vegas leaving the new manager to deal with an entire department leaving the office. I was also told during the pandemic: "You should feel lucky to still have a job" "If you can't focus maybe you need to come back into the office". Fear mongering during a pandemic is pretty low and counter to Paris' message.

I have been working at Truckstop.com full-time for more than 3 years

    Pros

Not many, used to be a pretty cool pace to work. Some of the people are nice.

    Cons

It really started to go downhill a couple of years ago when they did a big overhaul of sales leadership. Nobody cares about us, lots of placating talk from management and HR but no real changes for the better. Just a lot of cheap talk. Lots of wrong people in Sr management. They care more about not rocking the boat than actually doing the right thing. They came out with one good product in the 90s and everything else has been pretty pathetic ever since. They are afraid to address how the market is shifting. Lots of nepotism across the organization at almost every level. very little care or concern for the sales team. It seems like upper management has no idea who pays the bills around here.

Dear Partner, Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. We most certainly have seen a lot of change in our company as we continue to grow to serve our current and future customers. Change can be incredibly difficult. We feel confident in our sales teams capabilities, including our sales managers. We continue to recognize that sales is equipped to do their best work by providing tools they need to succeed. I am hopeful that you feel you can share your concerns with your supervisor or with your People and Culture team. We can and will be better and we need your partnership. Thank you, Victoria Roberts Chief of People and Culture

I worked at Truckstop.com full-time for more than 5 years

    Pros

The hourly jobs in New Plymouth are fantastic for what they are. Great middle management that really cares and works with their employees, plus some of the highest paying entry level jobs in the county. There's no better place to earn a solid paycheck for this type of work in the area.

    Cons

Unfortunately, I wasn't one of these hourly people, I was a mid-level salary employee. The pay was decent enough but the ever increasing duties and hours required to meet ever-changing goals and deadlines meant that the family atmosphere and work/life balance once proudly enjoyed by the company and its employees sharply declined. It used to be a fantastic place to work. Used to be. Over the past couple of years the "culture" has been a facade to hide the fact that all things point to the almighty dollar now. This company used to be all about serving its customers and taking care of its employees, but is quickly transforming into nothing more than "just another corporation" that needs to make money to please the investors. There are many people that still care, still have a passion for the company and their role, but they too will soon see that they are NOT valued, they are just a cog in the wheel that can and will be replaced at any time.

    Pros

No Pros that I can think of

    Cons

Managers are under qualified but are liked by sales directors who are also....under qualified. Sales is a joke and if you want to be successful you lie to make the sale even then it's hard to hit quota which is set by a number that was created probably in 2000. They tell employees to review postive so on glassdoor they can try and get 4 stars lol, people can read through the nonsense and know it's managers trying to save the look of the company.
