I have been working at True Religion Brand Jeans part-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

They understand that this particular job doesn't pay enough hourly and that they can't provide adequate hours a week to keep you sustained so they work with your other job schedule!

    Cons

Honestly no cons just yet; if you get the job to pay bills then definitely the con will be hours and pay.

    Advice to Management

    Remain lenient and understanding!

I worked at True Religion Brand Jeans (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great company. Good pay, plus commission & eligible for bonus every quarter. Great discount 70% off retail. Fun district contest during holiday weekends, prizes include free items. Great chances for Promotion if your committed, have OPEN availability and are willing to work hard and learn. They often promote from within.,

    Cons

Only managers are full time. Associates get 4-8 hours per week, top sellers are lucky to get 4 shifts per week. Company is also going through a lot of changes and expectations are heightened as resources are limited. For example hours are cut but expected work load is higher. We are feeling the pressures from corporate on a retail level and are being given unreasonable expectations. Also district managers have been rude to teams instead of encouraging and supporting, and often store managers take advantage of assistants and key holders by taking every weekend off, or taking long vacations but then not accepting ANY time off requests from the rest of the management team, but that is on a store by store basis.

    Advice to Management

Get your stuff together in corporate. Figure out what direction you want to go in and communicate that with your stores. We cannot be held accountable for not doing something if it was never communicated clearly. Not everyone in corporate seems to be on the same page, we kept getting contradicting direction from multiple people Which made it hard for us to effectively do our job.

    Cons

some customers get really disrespectful because they assume they have privilege for shopping at at high end store, customers also aren't accepting of your help as an employee feeling of being "stuck" in sales associate position with no further opportunities

I worked at True Religion Brand Jeans full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Full-time benefits such as 401K, Health Insurance, and Dental. 2% Commission on all sales paid monthly. Great opportunity for advancing your retail career in a Brand Name clothing store.

    Cons

Starting rate is lower because of commission. Corporate Structure changed several times in my 2 years of experience with the company resulting in new Regional Managers for our store. This caused headache getting to know the new RM and learning the new structures and procedures

    Advice to Management

The Regional Manager was looking over 20+ Stores. As a high-end high-priced retailer, a more focused approach to for Regional Managers that allows them to not be as busy and out-of-touch with some of their stores. Our Regional Manager would take hours to return calls when they were very time sensitive or urgent.

I worked at True Religion Brand Jeans full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

They are in a brand new building in Manhattan Beach. The surrounding area is nice & you can get a lot done on your lunch break if need be. True Religion seems to care about the wellness of their staff - they also have a yoga class & exercise class available for free once a week. The CEO & CMO are great... The majority of people that work there are really talented and nice. There are good benefits & they offer a great employee discount.

    Cons

There are some dynamics between departments that are strained. Within each department you'll find people tend to get along but between departments there is tension, which I think comes from the pressure of the lack of sales. If you are not in a management position you are asked to park off-site b/c the parking lot is on the small side. There are some spots for those they arrive early. Currently the sales aren't doing well so most departments are understaffed as well. As a result many are overworked and people are absorbing multiple positions. True Religion recently did a large layoff - the company sales have been low & they were forced to cut approx. 30-40 jobs.

    Advice to Management

It would be helpful to promote collaboration between departments. A lot of times one Dept will blame another for the problems instead of being proactive to make good changes. This becomes destructive at times.

    Pros

Very easy job but can be extremely boring. Spent time at three different locations all of them had little foot traffic (usually 100 on a normal day) worked for the company for almost three years was promoted from sales associate to keyholder.

    Cons

Got paid 2% commission and a decent base pay but should be a lot more for a "high end" company. The store I worked at closed and I was only given 3 weeks notice and no severance pay.

    Advice to Management

    Treat your employees better!
