I worked at Truman Arnold full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Nice coworkers who are in the same boat as you, lunches provided although sometimes it seems like it's only so you can use 20 minutes to go eat and go back to work-if you consistently use full hour for lunch and leave at 5 pm it's going to negative impact your yearly review and "attitude" check at Christmas.

    Cons

Even though you're salary employee, you will be treated as an hourly meaning you will have to submit time sheet for every doctor's appointment. There will be times when you will be working long hours and weekends however if you need to leave early for some reason following week you will need to use your sick or vacation. And it doesn't matter how many long evenings you work, if you come in at 8:01 am you will be in the "dog house" on senior management's watch list for being late. On top of that company doesn't care about safety of their employees, if you don't show up or come in late because of the winter weather you will need to use vacation. You wait a whole year for the vacation to be accrued to be able to take off. So for the first 2 years of employment you can take 1 week off. After your 2nd anniversary you can take 2 weeks. And if you ever decide to leave the company you make sure you use all of the accrued vacation-balance will NOT be paid to you regardless of how much notice you give. Watch during interview for key words such as "conservative company" and "structure", that's what they mean by it.

I worked at Truman Arnold full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    1) Great first job out of college to gain business experience.
    2) Excellent way to learn the basics of business operations, logistics, and supply chain management. Grateful for all that I learned.
    3) Company has a market- leading position in the fuel business, and is poised for growth.
    4) Knowledgeable VP, Sales, and Trading managers.

    Cons

    1) Inadequate compensation for the amount of work/stress/ schedule required (ROTATION SCHEDULE, NIGHTS AND WEEKENDS). TERRIBLE WORK-LIFE BALANCE!
    2) Unreasonable pressure from management to perform while almost always being understaffed.
    3) Small company. Not a lot of room for growth.

    Advice to Management

Invest in your people, and they will invest in your company. Work-life balance must improve.
