    Pros

The culture at PathDefender, both professionally and personally, is the strongest I've seen and it definitely comes top-down. The founding execs are bright, positive, fair, and transparent leaders who leverage past successes in driving the company mission. They legitimately care about everyone at the company and challenge everyone (including themselves) to grow and succeed.

Other perks - great office in downtown San Francisco, lunch provided daily, beer on tap, fun events and a great team to work with!

    Cons

Not enough hours in the day to accomplish all we want to.

    Advice to Management

Keep up what you're doing and let's make sure it stays this way as we grow!

    Pros

fun/extravagant outings, eclectic mix of folks

    Cons

    - CEO is a micromanager
    - no empathy from management/ceo (rather oblivious to employee happiness/loyalty
    - ceo has favorites
    - people are let go without warning - based on how management/ceo feels about him/her
    - no transparency
    - no mentorship
    - toxic work environment
    - inflexible work hours, lunch provided but you are expected to work through the day
    - ceo's way or the highway, any pushback or open discussion is looked down upon
    - ceo will have his 'flavor of the week' and forget about the project soon after (even after work has been done)
    - no training on new features, no sprint schedule. more so release a feature and have support and customer facing people deal with it
    - bad leadership
    - "unlimited PTO policy" now restrictive and monitored (illegal)
    - one product has decreasing market value, other product doesn't have a go to market strategy
    - very transactional role

    Advice to Management

stop taking things personally, don't micromanage your employees/ trust that everyone is going to do their job, let them be autonomous . cash bonuses is not that high up on the list of workplace motivators -- what motivates is strong leadership, making an impact, and personal career growth , which cannot be found at TrustedSite. culture starts from the top down. employees value transparency, no need for "inner circle". why not look at results instead of hours worked.

    Pros

Not many? Brought in food, relaxed casual work place. Some of the people were enjoyable. I wouldn't recommend working there lots of lies.

    Cons

Lie and cheat to sell. Not much training. Told to blast the phones, annoy people till they buy a useless product.

    Advice to Management

    Sell something useful.

    Pros

The ORIGINAL founders, the product and the original employees of PathDefender.

    Cons

Lack of product direction, poor communication and zero marketing support.

    Advice to Management

Let the ORIGINAL founders make the decisions to get this product back on track! Keep the CEO focused on building other relationships out side the company. Maybe focus more in the international space doing trade shows.

I have been working at TrustedSite full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

PathDefender is a rapidly growing company. There are many opportunities to learn and improve job skills. PathDefender also promotes from within.

    Cons

PathDefender has two locations, one in San Francisco and one near Dallas so communications with the other team are mostly through email, phone or video chat. That being said, the teams support each other well and the distance has not been a problem.

    Advice to Management

Management is doing a great job of looking ahead to anticipate the needs of this growing company. I have experienced nothing but fairness and honesty. Keep doing what you are doing.

    Pros

    Free lunch. 401k. Fun co-workers.

    Cons

Extremely noisy office. It's very difficult to concentrate.

Lack of leadership, communication and product vision.

Dysfunctional upper management. Disrespectful to employees.

    Favoritism and nepotism.

The worst PTO policy. As a new hire, you really only get 1 week of vacation time. Also, you don't accrue PTO hours.

    Low quality products and features.

Everyone is trying to get out.
