Hi there - thank you for sharing your experience on working at Trustpilot, we’re glad to hear you enjoyed your time here! Your positive highlights on our culture, people and product feel incredibly central to what we are all about and work hard to maintain. Thank you for sharing that with us. And to your point around high turnover: we hear you and we’re taking action. We’ve been investing a lot in our employee experience and career development. Our Job Architecture has just launched and our Career Maps rollout is shortly behind. Through these developments, our team members take the driver seat toward career growth, understand where they are today and what can help them in their journey toward what’s next. We know these things are important to Trusties from what they tell us through Peakon - so we’re confident they’ll make a real difference! We’re excited about building a place where people can build a career and your feedback helps us know we’re on the right track. Thank you again for sharing, and we wish you the very best for the future!

    Pros

Great people and not too stressful of an environment. The work you put in is the most important part. Hustle beats talent in this specific position.

    Cons

Some of the promotion paths are unrealistic once you join the team. Some managers care about your progress and some do not. You can't manage every employee the same exact way.

Hey, Trustie. Thank you for sharing your feedback and as we always say - good and bad, we want to hear it as we look to continue evolving as a company. It is good to hear about your overall experience so far, and thanks for sharing what has been not so great. We hear your feedback on inconsistent support on the journey toward career growth. It is on our radar and timely as we've been investing a lot in career development. We’re currently gearing up to launch our career development philosophy in the coming weeks and it would be great to hear more specifics on your experience. Perhaps drop your People Team Leader in the US a line with any additional details. If we can learn from it, we absolutely will! Good to have you here, Trustie!

    People Business Partner

Hi there and thanks for taking time to leave a review. It’s great to hear you rate our fun work environment and our Trusties - we’re really proud of our culture! We want our Trusties to feel challenged in their career with us and part of that could be your quota. We encourage Trusties to feed back if they have concerns, such as if you feel that your quota is unreachable. We’ll always listen and try balance this with what’s going on in the market and will review our quotas where it makes sense to do so.

Hi there. Thanks for sharing your feedback. It’s good to hear you think there’s lots of room for growth and with our newly-launched Job Architecture, we’re providing more clarity on where roles are mapped in the business and potential career paths. Your ‘con’ still sounds like a positive - we want our Trusties to remain engaged and ‘switched on’ to see the consistent positive results they want. We hope you enjoyed your time and the culture at Trustpilot!

  5. "Trustpilot is a good starting point for your career"

I have been working at Trustpilot full-time

    Pros

Good team, Decent Pay, It's in NYC

    Cons

Too structured sometimes, not enough room for growth

    Trustpilot Response

Hello, Trustie. Thanks for sharing your perspective and forgive us for not replying sooner! Thanks for taking a few minutes to share your view of Trustpilot with the world. It’s really interesting that you note the amount of structure there is at Trustpilot - we’ve made a real effort in recent times to introduce that as we’ve matured, but agree that it’s important to find a balance. We want to offer structure to support people in their growth - but not so much that they don’t have the space to develop and forge their own path to success. This feedback is helpful for us as we continue to evolve. Please consider reaching out to our People Team leader in the US with any suggestions you may have on providing more room to grow. If we can learn from it, we absolutely will. Thanks again!

    Pros

fun place to work with others

    Cons

    hard to learn at first

    Trustpilot Response

Hello! Thanks for this and forgive us for not replying sooner. We appreciate your feedback. You’ve not expanded on the beginning of your journey at Trustpilot too much, but FYI, we do recognize that onboarding is a key part of an employee’s experience and try our best - even virtually - to make this as useful to people as possible. Consistency is key though and we’re constantly working to make sure every part of our employee’s experience - from the moment they join, to the end of their time with us - is the best it can be. So, thanks for the reminder about the importance of first impressions! If you’ve got any thoughts on how we could make things easier to get to grips with when you first start here, we’d love to hear them. Maybe drop your US People Team leader a message. He’ll be extremely grateful for pointers on how we can get better - as are we. Thanks again!

    Trustpilot Response

Hi there. Thank you for sharing your perspective - good and bad, it’s genuinely appreciated and very helpful for us as a company. And please forgive us for taking some time to get back to you. Hopefully you have a chance to read this and know that we are listening to each and every Glassdoor review that people kindly take the time to post. Everything you’ve pointed out is fair and something we recognize - especially the importance of supporting our newer and more inexperienced leaders. We’re investing a lot in leadership development to formalize the high standards of leadership that we expect across the organization. As well as improving the experience of everyone who works here, we believe it’ll also help with the pressure than can accompany a sales role, giving our brilliant Trusties the time and space to find their own path to realizing their potential. Your review suggests this work will make a big difference. It’s good to know that we’re onto something! Thank you for being a part of the team. And we wish you the very best of luck in whatever you choose to do next!

    Current Employee - Account Executive

I have been working at Trustpilot full-time

    Pros

-great people -free lunch on fridays and bagels on mondays -nice location -the pricing of the product is reasonable

    Cons

-heavy prospecting and cold calling -the pay is well below average compared to the industry standards -the product is lacking compared to competitors -management is terrible and they try to act as they care about your career growth but they really don't.... -favoritism is shown from management -high turnover rate -zero to none for employee benefits -the training could be a lot stronger for people who are newly hired

Hey, Trustie. Thanks for this review of your time with us so far. A lot of the things you’ve mentioned as cons are being addressed by our People Plan, which no doubt you’ve heard a lot about. Our overall benefits packages in each region. Training and development. Quality and consistent leadership in every team. These things take a little time, but we genuinely are pouring everything into getting them in good shape before the year is out. We’d like to think that, if you stick with us, you’ll see that we’ll come good on the promises set out in our People Plan. Thanks again for taking the time to write. And thanks for being part of the team.

I have been working at Trustpilot full-time

    Pros

Good people, free food, casual dress code.

    Cons

-The pay is well below average across the board and ultimately the reason most people leave. -Lack of diversity, especially in leadership positions. I don't think this is by design but I've ever worked at a company with less diversity. If you are a person of color it can be a very uncomfortable environment. From the executive board to management - zero diversity. I could count the amount of minorities working in the NYC office on one hand. One person of color on the executive board. -No room to grow - odds are if you are reading this you didn't start working at Trustpilot in 2015, which means you will never be promoted to manager or director. The leadership teams are based strictly on tenure. - The product - customer reviews are a luxury product. Yes, the are beneficial for virtually any business but businesses also run perfectly fine without them.

Hi there. Thanks for taking the time to write this review. Many people comment on the great friendships they enjoy at Trustpilot. We’re really proud of that. As far as the less than positive things you’ve listed, as cliche as it might sound, we are working on them and they do matter to us. Both the overall benefits package we provide our Trusties, and their development while they’re here with us, are key parts of our People Plan, which you will have heard plenty about in recent months. As an open platform, being open to all and totally inclusive is something we believe in deeply. We have well over 40 different nationalities here at Trustpilot and will always keep an eye on the diversity of our teams to make sure we protect the value that different voices and perspectives bring to our business. As far as our product goes, we’d argue that listening to your customers should never be a luxury! ;) Thanks again for your review and your honesty!

Hey! Happy New Year! We really wish we were at least a little better than average in your eyes, but we’re grateful for the honest feedback. Hiring people who are the ‘right fit’ for Trustpilot is something we’ve been doing more of in recent times and we believe that’s partly the reason why so many people - you included, it seems - enjoy great friendships with colleagues here. We’d agree with you when you say change is constant. That’s just the reality of a business who is having to grow up quickly as we continue to scale from one day to the next. Could we do a better job of managing it? Yes, probably. After all: there’s always room for improvement and we’d never pretend we’re perfect at anything. Thanks for the timely reminder that we should never stand still. We’ll play this point on change management back to leadership so it’s front of their mind too. We really appreciate the review, so thanks again!
