I have been working at Tucson Medical Center full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I made slightly more money here than at previous jobs. Good coworkers.

    Cons

Employee parking is confusing and terrible. TMC gives no consideration to whether there is enough, I would have to arrive 15-20 mins earlier than usual just to find a spot some days.

PCTs might be paid a bit more than usual but I earned it. I consistently had back-breaking, unsafe patient loads. Management didn't do much to advocate for us and find more staff.

No consideration was given to days I asked to work. Self scheduling was a myth. I was working every weekend while some techs had all of them off.

TMC was constantly calling and begging for me to work overtime during busy times, but during slow times, I would work maybe one day a week. I was a full time, benefitted employee but for months at a time, couldn't count on being treated like one.

    Advice to Management

I don't know. I guess you are trying to save money. Seems like it would be cheaper to add more staff and avoid costly incidents than to harp on us constantly while giving us unsafe assignments.

I worked at Tucson Medical Center full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Great individuals working there, nice facility, decent pay, good location, good food, organized, good to their staff, centrally located in the Tucson area

    Cons

Long hours, limited days off, it was hard for me to be promoted within my field despite working there for 3 years and having a consistently good performance

    Advice to Management

I would advise management to work on the work/life balance for their employees, especially for their nurses. Hopefully that factor has changed since I worked there. Other than that, great place to work.
