I have been working at Tullett Prebon full-time

    Pros

Tullett's global reach offers opportunity to relocate. Tullett's compliance and legal team have the experience to navigate through the latest complex regulations. Young people entering the workforce will be exposed to Tullett's vast experience in the interdealer broker market.

    Cons

A large corporate culture may overwhelm those who prefer a more boutique feel. An impending merger with ICAP may cause a wave of consolidation.

    Advice to Management

The brokers are the revenue engine for Tullett. Management needs to be aware of their stresses as the markets change and the merger becomes a reality. The ability to open remote locations can open the door to more great hires as technology allows for teams to work together in different locations.

    Pros

global company, access to lots of resources, friendly and helpful HR, great location, good people to work with socially for the most part

    Cons

need to examine and change their P/L structure to facilitate team players over individual performance

    Advice to Management

hire outside consultants to better facilitate communications amongst the brokers

    Pros

I agree with the posters below that this is a fabulous place to make money. Camaraderie is good and you will learn a lot. They promote an open door policy and upper management is accessible.

    Cons

Inconsistent and sometimes disengaged leadership. Certain departments are not in the best shape. HR can be pleasant but not a big help. The Legal Department in New Jersey City always seems to be jettisoning its best people or they leave on their own accord. The individual at its helm is not really viewed as particularly trusted or capable. IT is very helpful any time I have a computer issue at my desk.

I have been working at Tullett Prebon full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great work life balance, pretty decent pay, plenty of vacation days

    Cons

No raises, bonuses have been shrinking every year, little to no growth opportunity, probably downsizing soon

I have been working at Tullett Prebon (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Benefit days given are great.

    Cons

Back office employees are under appreciated. Front office receives bonuses while they tell back office that the business is not doing well enough to at least get the same bonus from prior years. Management only cares of the work more than your safety. During Hurricane Sandy and a huge winter storm, management was desperate to get employees in although they were not in.

    Advice to Management

Pay more attention to the moral of the back office employees.

    Pros

    -Laid back culture
    -Good learning experience

    Cons

-Working over the summer months when trading slows down can be boring
-Very little tangible work for an intern to do

    Pros

    The laid back work environment.

    Cons

There is a lack of career opportunities and growth.

    Advice to Management

I worked for Tullett Prebon Information. A subsidiary of the well recognized Inter-Dealer Broker known as Tullett Prebon. I can't speak for how the rest of the departments work, but I do know that the TP information side could have communicated better. It's really sad when you work within a department that has never had an actual department meeting. Makes you question how the heads value passing on information to their employees. Ironically their goal is to provide transparent data yet lack transparency within their own organization.
