I worked at Turner Broadcasting full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Work with some very talented people in a great working environment. Salaries are top notch.

    Cons

Work with some very unprofessional people as well. Lots of gamesmenship and "high school popularity contest" mentalities. Strategic plans not aligned with day to day realities and outcomes.

    Advice to Management

Hire more from outside Atlanta, ie NYC, LA, San Fran, or Chicago. Need to shake up good old boy network.

Great creative culture with a history of taking care of it's employees.

    Cons

Since 2014 there have been a lot of layoffs and more are on the way.

    Advice to Management

I have been working at Turner Broadcasting full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great campus, friendly people, good location, good perks, fair salary

    Cons

Politics. Good luck navigating it. If you want to move up, better kiss some butt up the chain.

    Advice to Management

Reward individuals for their true productivity. Stop rewarding everyone the same because the company did good. There is a lot of dead weight getting 100% bonuses.

I worked at Turner Broadcasting (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Most of the employees I worked with and encountered were professional, talented and easy to work with.

    Cons

Lots of egos-especially at CNN. Really top heavy organization with little regard to the folks who actually perform the duties.

    Advice to Management

Work along with your teams to fully understand what they do and share more of your views and insight from those over you.

    Pros

Fantastic culture, awesome offices and amazing brands that make me proud to come to work each day.

    Cons

Some upper management out of touch with day to day. Don't be fooled by the young vibe, corporate culture exists here and is a huge barrier!

    Advice to Management

Stay more in touch with all tiers, not just C-Suite.

I worked at Turner Broadcasting as a contractor

    Pros

    Great Company! Lots of resources

    Cons

Not very good in paying contractors on time. Should not have a 30 day net; Needs to be more timely.

    Advice to Management

Needs to have checks and balances to make sure that Contractors are being paid in a timely manner
