I worked at Turner Broadcasting full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Almost everyone there is very friendly and helpful, and willing to work together as a team on various projects. Upper management in my department was very transparent and encouraging. Work/life balance was much better than average, with the understanding that working late is a requirement in order to meet project due dates. But those only came up a few times a year. Benefits, bonuses, and overall work environment was great, and much better than colleagues in other companies around town.

    Cons

All of the "Pros" mentioned above can vary from company to company, as Turner is comprised of several Network companies, with dozens of departments & studios within those companies. New employees can be kept at 'temp/contract worker' status for significantly longer periods than other places.

The "downsizing" and "restructuring" that Turner went through from 2014 to 2016 could mean less opportunity to move up and grow in your field.

    Advice to Management

Be open, transparent, and encouraging to everyone around you, and they'll be willing to work harder for you.

    Pros

Lots of PTO that can be used as soon as the years starts. No need to accumulate throughout the year. Opportunities for overtime.

    Cons

Rotating days off can be bad. Schedule is hard for people with families. Management seems to not care. Using PTO can be difficult and depends on staffing.

    Advice to Management

    Provide more opportunities to advance.

I worked at Turner Broadcasting full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Great benefits, great pay, great people, and attractive campus.

    Cons

It's a very big company, with little top-down vision for the groups within it. The result is an organization which competes with itself.

    Pros

The new food court and redesigned campus is really nice. The new bonus structure is also geared towards overall company achievement.

    Cons

It can be hard to move up. There are layoffs every year or every other year. The merger with at&t leaves a lot of unknowns.

    Advice to Management

Keep moving forward with revitalizing the campus, it's a lot nicer. The new food at the food court is really good, I'd like to see that continue.

    Pros

    - One of the best departments in the entire company and some of the nicest and most fun people to work with
    - Very interesting position and can become anything you want it to be based on what you're interested in

    Cons

    - Wish that they could pay interns more than $7.25/hour, but it's company policy
    - Nothing else! LOVED IT!
