I worked at Turner Broadcasting as an intern

    Pros

Everyone I worked with was incredibly nice. It was interesting to observe how a major company runs.

    Cons

There were many times where I had nothing to do and would just sit there waiting for work. Many of the tasks I was given were very small and probably more as "busy work"

    Advice to Management

Management should allow interns to be more involved. They have a wonderful intern program but it doesn't offer any opportunity for advancement.

I worked at Turner Broadcasting full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

    - Great benefits: medical, parental leave, adoption reimbursement.
    - Ability to work from home, remotely, and flexible hours
    - Good environment. It is different depending on the division.
    - A lot of investment to improve the Techwood campus.
    - Opportunities to growth within the company.

    Cons

    - The company and the industry are changing. The company is trying to keep up with the the changes and maintain their leadership.
    - Not all the divisions in the company share the same vision and culture, specially the divisions that are overseas.

I worked at Turner Broadcasting full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Very comfortable physical work environment. Feels stable, but the business is facing more challenges as TV viewing habits change.

    Cons

Time Warner has changed the Southern culture at the Atlanta locations - and not for the better.

    Advice to Management

The time is coming when your experience and talents won't be needed anymore. Save up.

I worked at Turner Broadcasting as an intern

    Pros

People who work there are really nice, Office is really nice, they're trying to change things up and be more innovative. The staff is approachable and intern program is pretty good. The food is subsidized so it's pretty cheap and the view over central park is amazing.

Upper level management is very approachable to interns and will take you out to coffee/lunch without a blink. weekly intern activities and lectures were great. Got to see a lot of the different opportunities at turner and got to learn a ton about the company. This internship is also paid and there is a summer long intern project where you get to present in front of all the execs and VPs which is great experience.

Also a bunch of employee appreciation events, good training and overall good vibes. Bis casual dress with casual Fridays, and summer Fridays are half days

    Cons

intern program would be better if we had 1-2 mentors we worked with the whole summer, instead of trading people off every week. Some of the people I shadowed seemed really busy/forced into working with me when they didn't want to or didn't come into the office on days that I was supposed to be working with them. (other people were super enthusiastic about sharing their work with me! Just wish I had more of these people)

being with a different exec every week didnt give me a long enough time to really work with them on any long projects, basically just enough to get to know them and do some simple clerical work then on to the next exec. Glad I got to meet a lot of people in the office but wish I had a few things to do that were more long term.
