    Pros

The people at TCCO are really great, knowledgable, helpful people. They take time to help you get situated and teach you everything you need to know.

    Cons

Honestly in my time at TCCO there were very little cons, everyone there is very helpful with anything you need

    Advice to Management

The management style is great and I would not change a thing, There is no corporate ladder feel when around higher up employees.

I have been working at Turner Construction full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of opportunities for professional growth. Good benefits. Access to world class projects. Committed to doing good work and giving back to community. Takes thoughtful approach to taking on new projects. Great reputation.

    Cons

Slow to embrace change. Weak staff will still advance due to seniority despite not being effective in their positions. Can be more reactive than proactive to address issues on projects.

I worked at Turner Construction full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    -well known company
    -large industry player
    -looks great on a resume
-exposure to lots of industry leaders
    -great 401k match
-large scale and high profile projects

    Cons

-compensated based on time of service and not on merit. This results in young talent leaving.
    -minimal flexibility
    -lack of project leadership
    -human resources

    Advice to Management

Pay closer attention to which employees actually do work and which ones accomplish very little and provide minimal value to the company. Once those individuals are identified they should be terminated, not shipped to another project. On the contrary the employees who provide greater value to the company should be identified, then promoted and compensated based on merit.

I have been working at Turner Construction full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Turner is very willing to work with your personal goals/extracurriculars. The work-life balance is pretty good and as a company they've been striving to improve since the industry calls for long hours. It does vary project to project, and depends on the team you are working with. For the most part, the people at Turner are great to work with and make coming to work every day enjoyable.

    Cons

The construction industry in general can be very stressful and calls for long hours over certain periods of time, this includes working weekends, second or third shift, etc. Career plan and growth isn't as transparent as it should be, especially in the first few years at Turner. For some reason, what project you're going to be working on next is a big secret (even weeks before your transition) until you reach a certain level of seniority. You're lucky if you find out you're going to a new project a couple weeks in advance.

    Advice to Management

Work on making career plans, development and growth more transparent. Employees should be empowered and feel as if they own their career paths and development. Senior management could also be more accessible and approachable to younger Turner staff, although this has improved greatly over the last year or so.
