I have been working at Turner Construction full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great people, interesting job, invested company. The New Hire program feels rotational, and with that are many learning experiences and constant challenges. Turner is a large company that feels small.

    Cons

Work life balance can sometimes be difficult, somewhat depends on your project assignment. They aren't a ton of cons with the company itself, more so the industry

    Advice to Management

    Allocate resources for more training

    Pros

The people at TCCO are really great, knowledgable, helpful people. They take time to help you get situated and teach you everything you need to know.

    Cons

Honestly in my time at TCCO there were very little cons, everyone there is very helpful with anything you need

    Advice to Management

The management style is great and I would not change a thing, There is no corporate ladder feel when around higher up employees.

I have been working at Turner Construction full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

Lots of opportunities for professional growth. Good benefits. Access to world class projects. Committed to doing good work and giving back to community. Takes thoughtful approach to taking on new projects. Great reputation.

    Cons

Slow to embrace change. Weak staff will still advance due to seniority despite not being effective in their positions. Can be more reactive than proactive to address issues on projects.

I worked at Turner Construction full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    -well known company
    -large industry player
    -looks great on a resume
-exposure to lots of industry leaders
    -great 401k match
-large scale and high profile projects

    Cons

-compensated based on time of service and not on merit. This results in young talent leaving.
    -minimal flexibility
    -lack of project leadership
    -human resources

    Advice to Management

Pay closer attention to which employees actually do work and which ones accomplish very little and provide minimal value to the company. Once those individuals are identified they should be terminated, not shipped to another project. On the contrary the employees who provide greater value to the company should be identified, then promoted and compensated based on merit.
