    Pros

As an intern there isn't a day where I'm not learning something new. Construction is a field that is constantly changing and dynamic, so there is never room to get too comfortable. The people you work with come from all walks of life, but work so well together. They ensure that all your questions are answered and that you get the most from the internship experience.

    Cons

Long hours, but it depends on the stage of the project. Too many meetings at times

I have been working at Turner Construction full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good place to work. Good atmosphere. Everyday is a new challenge, which is very enjoyable and allows me to use my skill.

    Cons

No insurance is probably the worst thing about this job. Also the inconsistency with weather picks and chooses my days I work.

    Advice to Management

Not really much advice I can give on the cons. Possibly get insurance soon and/ or save enough inside work to balance out rainy days.

    Pros

Career growth opportunities, tuition reimbursement, health benefits, cultural, age & gender diversity , career training, "sky's the limit" depending on your ability to keep up. Really smart and innovative people, educated, fast pace, 5 years at Turner equates to 10 years of construction industry experience.

    Cons

Not enough vacation, 3 wks after 5yrs w/Company, 4wks after 15yrs. Long work day, normal work day 6:30am to 5:30pm. Weekend work required, Promotion's are far and few, raise percentages not enough for the hours worked. Equates to emotional & physical draining, really hard to get rid of dead weight personnel.

    Advice to Management

Give supervisors the authority/opportunity to approve salary raises, institute compensations days for weekend work.

I worked at Turner Construction full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Good Company - Great Benefits - People in the field are hardworking and motivated - HR Team is great - Salary is fair - Quick response on IT issues

    Cons

Long Hours required in the field - Middle Management needs more training - high turnover - Not enough Interns or Labor hired at project sites

    Advice to Management

Think more about the people in the field working instead of what time management will go hunting golfing or any other outdoor activity.

I have been working at Turner Construction (More than a year)

    Pros

Challenging, diverse projects that span multiple industries. Turner delivers a great product to our clients and maintains lasting relationships that benefit the company down the road. The company compensates employees well. There is options to move in multiple positions within the company. There are also ways to move to other cities around the country through Turner's many national and international offices. Turner has a world-class in-house training program that is offered to employees.

    Cons

The hours of construction are not fun. They start early and end when ever they end but that is typical of the construction industry. Due to being a large corporation, many employees at the lower levels are promoted based on time with the company rather than merit which can be frustrating. Besides for the pay and benefits package, there isn't much other form of compensation available.

    Advice to Management

Work to integrate the staff that are located on job sites into the main office culture. The work is very rewarding so rewarding the employees for hard work would be nice every so often.
