Don't let gimmicks and false promises fool you.

    Pros

Most employees are very talented and friendly. Good company on your resume, but remember you are just a number. You may have a long and successful career if you agree with dated management, policies, and procedures.

    Cons

If you get the wrong management and lackluster internal team, you are in for quite a surprise. Turner Construction cares more about its bottom line than its employees' success or progression. They do a great job advertising their mission of DE&I. However, this performative activism is misleading to people unaware of what Turner prioritizes. The all-mighty dollar. You must be the perfect "Stepford wife" or cookie-cutter person. If you think independently, you become the problem, and everyone will see you as such. I have seen many good employees get terminated for thinking or doing something that was not the TURNER WAY.

    Great Company

Nov 26, 2022 - Superintendent in Boston, MA
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Great benefits, work with great people, the definition of work hard and play hard

    Cons

You need to have an “in” when it comes to promotions. Also seems like management will rather let people leave and join other companies for more pay then try to keep good workers.

    Miami - Assistant Project Engineer

Aug 1, 2022 - Assistant Project Engineer in Miami, FL

    Business Outlook

    Pros

    - Growth Opportunity is amazing (mostly in SPD. Main hasn’t given me a lot to learn compared to SPD) - Very Flexible when it comes to your personal life and having to deal with things outside of work - Most of the people here are very friendly and are always willing to help you learn - Higher ups are willing to relocate you to a spot/project that is within a reasonable driving distance from your location, as long as you are not afraid to speak up

    Cons

    - The pay could be better for the amount of work and responsibilities they give you - Bonuses are set from the beginning, for the first couple of levels, and there is no opportunity to earn more even when your project is making 3x the amount initially reported - They tend to surprise you with your next project and don’t consult you much on what possible opportunities are out there for you to pursue - There are handful of people that are horrible coworkers and drain the excitement I have to come into work everyday

    Pros

    - Good support from supervisor and management - Good people - Solid compensation package - Use of technology and good financial management system

    Cons

    - So much structure in place, it takes a while to get things done or bring about change

    Words don’t match actions

    Oct 19, 2022 - Project Superintendent

    Business Outlook

    Pros

    - Job security was great - Well known company which was perfect for networking - Good benefits - Some very knowledgeable co-workers that you can learn a lot from

    Cons

    - Consistently paid under industry standard - Political topics are only focused on for show. Behind closed doors, people don’t care about race and gender rights like the company expects them to - Disconnect from upper management - Turner will talk about work life balance, then suck your soul from you. If you are sacrificing your personal relationships for the job, then you are doing something right in there eyes. Not a job for someone that wants to enjoy time with their family

    Good company, questionable Cincinnati office

    Oct 8, 2022 - Anonymous Employee
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Enjoy working here and the people I work with. Projects have plenty of support and there are numerous training and career building opportunities. Great projects to work on to build up the resume. Pay is fair but not great. Total benefit package is solid - no car allowance, gas card, profit sharing, stock bonuses, etc. until you are high level in company.

    Cons

Corporate gets lost in the weeds in some of the more progressive agendas. Upper management at local office seems to not care for employees and does little to retain good workers. Many people leaving the company at this office but there’s been no attempt to boost salaries/bonuses/retirement matching to keep others around. Pay in this area is behind the rest of the country as well.
