Overworked,underpaid, and undervalued

Children and families are amazing.
Cons
This company starts people off at minimum wage. Some teachers work here for years and only increase their pay by 2 dollars, while the company makes HUNDREDS OF MILLIONS of dollars a year. The teachers are moved from class to class, and the students are, as well. The turnover rate is quite high and recent events have caused loyal teachers to abandon ship. The director gossips about the employees to other employees and plays favorites, while berating other employees. They constantly change the scheduled the employees are supposed to work and sometimes make more qualified teachers leave their rooms due to unqualified staff. Employee concerns are not addressed, which leave the employees feeling insecure and undervalued. The issues not addressed are employee attitudes, drama between employees, and potential issues with children , including: behavioral issues, scheduling issues, and potential developmental delays.

The worst company I have ever encountered
Mar 17, 2016 - Lead Preschool Teacher in Irvine, CARecommendCEO ApprovalBusiness OutlookPros
The facility itself is nice
Cons
- The company is only interested in profit, regardless of the cost to the children and teachers. If I were a parent, I would never send my children to this school. - The class sizes are frightening. Teachers have no choice but to rely on yelling and threats to manage the classroom. Students and teachers are constantly being shuffled to different rooms to remain in ratio. - Sometimes the cook will be stuck in classrooms in order to give teachers breaks. The cook doesn't have the training and units required to legally watch the children. Furthermore, it keeps the cook from serving food on time. - The school is understaffed, and the staff is underpaid. Teachers are overworked and undercompensated. It's disgusting. - Even if you have a fever and are throwing up, they will not permit you to go home. Children and your health are put at risk, because management refuses to hire more teachers. - I witnessed two teachers have full blown nervous breakdowns during a shift. - Prior to accepting their offer, I checked the glassdoor reviews and chose to ignore the many negative reviews left by previous employees. I was desperate for money. Please don't repeat my mistake. There are many childcare facilities you can work at; don't choose this one.

Love the Children Hate the Coworkers

The children are incredibly
Cons
The workplace is a small gossipy hellhole where most of the people went to the same high school and still act as if they are around that age group as far as gossip goes. Many of these people are just plain miserable (and it shows). It is also unfortunate that much of this misery gets taken out on the children. This place claims to encourage a healthy environment for the children as part of their grow fit plan but primarily feed children goldfish and cookies. Also do not work here if you are either LGBT or attempting to recover from an eating disorder. Although they often know it’s better to mask it, the people evinced to be very homophobic and are extremely uneducated about the basics of mental health. They will ask extremely invasive questions to “make conversation” while having no regard of personal boundaries and still try to push you even if you politely decline to answer their harmful questions that are triggering and detrimental to your recovery Also, despite being employed full time, most employees never make their 40 hours. I have spoken to employees who have worked at this center for 6+ years who have mentioned that the only time they have made their 40 hours when they first began working here.

Amazing children and families. Wonderful staff and local school management. The teachers and school managers are what makes every day better, especially knowing that the people beyond the local schools don't care.
Cons
Lack of support beyond local school to managers. Give realistic goals and expectations. Make children and families the top priority, not the $.
