I have been working at Tutti Frutti part-time

    Pros

For the most part, working here is nice. You get free yogurt and it's definitely not too labor intensive. It's also fairly easy to learn everything and learn it quickly (there is a routine to things for sure). It's pretty slow paced during the school year which allows a lot of downtime, so our managers allow us to work on school. It's also great if you like having alone time, but this depends on how you are as a person. They are very flexible with scheduling as well. Customers are typically nice and you work with a lot of kids.

    Cons

This job can be a lot of responsibility if you're not used to it; at my TF they hire teens and 18y/o+ and this was actually quite frustrating- a lot of the kids in H.S. seemed confused as to what to do (not their fault) because they weren't allowed to do the main tasks (i.e. making yogurt, cleaning machines- might vary store to store). This was also frustrating because it meant if you were below 18 you can't take morning shifts, so as someone who is 18 working at the shop, it was was less flexible as far as scheduling simple because we are so understaffed (this also means if I have an emergency it's nearly impossible to get someone to take my shift if it's in the morning). The alone time is great if you are okay with it but can sometimes be kind of nerve-wracking when closing or even opening honestly.

    Advice to Management

I honestly just don't think it makes sense to hire so many people under 18 with tight schedules even knowing that they won't be allowed to do anything. If you do this, at least hire more people who are capable of taking morning shifts so that the weight isn't on about 2 people to take care of opening every day when they also have schedules to work around.

I worked at Tutti Frutti part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Modern environment, upbeat, surrounded by food

    Cons

My store had no manager, just the owner, and in order to save money only had one person working the entire store at one time (made an exception on Friday/Saturday nights and had two people). Severely understaffed making it the most stressful job I ever had. Hard to balance the front of the store while cooking in the back.

    Advice to Management

dont understaff to save a few dollars, its minimum wage people!!

I worked at Tutti Frutti part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

You get free yogurt and coffee since it is conjoined with Seattle's Best Coffee. Was able to choose our own music that was family friendly and with no bad language.

    Cons

Hard labor but no appreciation. Ended up working as full-time and did over the 40 hours but the hours were removed for the next pay check and so forth, which I believe is illegal to do that. Bosses would tell us to clean certain trays or placing the spoon correctly and do other tasks while the store was extremely busy. Was always yelled at when customers asked why the prices were high, but we don't enforce it, the bosses do.
