I worked at Twentieth Century Fox full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

It was a joy working with smart people who enjoyed their job. The company does not go through a hiring frenzy and then lay people off. They also promote from within.

    Cons

Systems are not used to their full potential. People seem reluctant to be innovative, at least in getting their work done and rely on a slow, paper-pushing process. Not interested in improving processes. Fix the symptom and not the cause.

    Advice to Management

Develop a culture of continued process improvement through education, training and accountability to increase margin. Keep critical finance functions in-house for better communication among departments.

I worked at Twentieth Century Fox full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Result-oriented studio, lean but not mean, empowers its employees by giving them both P&L and strategic responsibilities.

    Cons

TCF franchise and animation pipeline uncertain. 21CF management in transition with James and Lachlan Murdoch starting their era with not clear plan yet beyond saving overhead.

I worked at Twentieth Century Fox full-time

    Pros

working with people outside of HR is great. most department heads are responsive, positive and appreciative of recruiting.

    Cons

DO NOT work in Recruiting! HR is horrid to them (and each other). Infighting, nasty, derogatory comments of co-workers by senior management! NO interest whatsoever in creating a positive teamwork environment between HR and Recruiting. HR is disrespectful, condescending and confrontative. It's unbelievable the lack of professionalism and we're supposed to be on the same team. All recruiters know of Fox's bad reputation. Stay Away!

    Advice to Management

Murdoch's pay attention to what's going on in HR. Constant turnover in recruiting, can't keep top leaders. It's time to get into the 21st century changes in HR and recruiting. Bullying, harassment, childish, uncivil, lack of cooperation, just a horrid place to be. Who wants that in their lives?
