    Pay is monthly
    Have to wait awhile for any career advancement.

    Advice to Management

    Offer more training to whom who want it more.

    I have been working at TxDOT full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great Benefits, retirement / pension plan, time off, training both class room style and hands on, great co-workers.helpful in obtaining PE license.

    Cons

    Pay isn't as great as the private sector, lack of leadership within the office at times, lack of staff due to hiring freezes.

    Very diverse company with Great Benefits, Competitive Pay and a variety of different career options in professional, technical, and support.

    Cons

    Long work hours at times with no overtime available.
    Opportunity for growth is limited when compared with the private sector.

    Advice to Management

    Work more to improve performance among and moral among employees.
    Give more detailed end of the year performance reviews with ways to improve.

    Pros

    Coworkers and supervisors were amazing people. Very knowledgeable. Great at showing and telling the ins and outs of the job.

    Cons

    A lot of drama and talk behind people's backs. Could use better organization in terms of scheduling and planning for the coming week.

    Advice to Management

    Offer alternatives to employees disgruntled with their current situation. Be helpful when in hard times. Schedule and prepare to help new employees.
