    Negative Outlook

I worked at Tyco full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

No support from local or upper management. Incompetent overpaid coworkers no accountability for many. Workload is put on the few competent workers without any additional compensation.

    Cons

Too much pressure put on sales which puts great stress on field guys to make the impossible possible with no chance of success. Being at the bottom when the job fails as an installer you are the responsible one the accountable one.

    Advice to Management

Try and listen to your guys in the field. Get feedback from the ones you can trust not the ones that are trying to manipulate things for themselves

I worked at Tyco full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Managers are some what flexible with your schedule. There was a good work ethic and most other employees were very nice people.

    Cons

I have really nothing bad to highlight, my experience at Simplex Grinnell was great where I made good friends. The only strange thing I noticed was that upper management had an impressive turn over.

    Advice to Management

    Keep up the good work!

I worked at Tyco full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Solid company with decent benefits including 401K, several healthcare options, dental, vision, and life insurance.

    Cons

High turnover in many areas due to high volume of change. Expectation of 45-50+ hrs/week especially for salaried employees. HR is mainly self service.

    Advice to Management

Reduce volume of change. Focus of fewer key initiatives and back burner the rest.

I worked at Tyco full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Flexible work arrangements, decent pay, generally good teamwork. Benefits are average. Opportunity to work on global initiatives. Decent compensation packages.

    Cons

Leadership at the top is clueless and have no vision or strategy. The new CIO is solely focused on cost (meaning headcount reductions mostly) which what he focused on at Tyco. JCI is a very different company with different objectives and he does not get that. Sad to say but he may be in over his head. Big "good old boy" network - roles are based on who you know not what you do. Not a great work environment now with merger activities.

    Pros

    Being able to help customers

    Cons

When trying to help customers finding out their Salesman would not be available to them when they have questions only he can answers, once they close the sale they leave the customer out there which is frustrating to me as A customer rep

    Advice to Management

Make sure the Sales Mangers are available even after the sale closes
