I have been working at Tyson Fresh Meats full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Tyson chicken is a great place to wotk, if you are looking for a job. It's a wonderful place to work and get as many hours as you want, you could work seven days a week or you could work night shift or day, which ever you prefer, it gives you a since of completion and adversity.

    Cons

If you have kids, you wouldn't have time for them, especially if you work packing or as it's called labeling.

    Advice to Management

Always keep your employees in mind, remember you started where everyone else started from, and that because you came into power, don't take advantage of it, we work just as hard or hard than you do, so give a break sometimes.

Tyson was a nice place to use as a stepping stone with my carrier

    Cons

The main reason I no Longer work at Tyson, the Safety Coordinator does not follow Core Safety Mandate Policies.

    Pros

Excellent Learning Opportunities. Will teach you if you have any mechanical aptitude at all. Great way to get started in the field of maintenance without any schooling or previous experience.

    Cons

Low pay for the field. Constant revolving door and many of the employees have no business attempting to be mechanics. Maintenance management uses bully-tactics to get work done. Your safety truly means nothing to them. They will say to your face how if you feel uncomfortable, etc, etc, safety is key, blah, blah and then next you'll be welding or doing electrical with PSSI (cleaning) spraying water right at you shocking you. You tell your boss, he says its the nature of the job.

    Advice to Management

If safety really is key, don't put our safety at risk then. Don't allow your supervisors to play games on their phones in their offices while your getting electrically shocked welding because the cleaning crew is spraying everywhere! Don't present Tyson Core Values, then allow Maintenance Supervisors to bully, demean, and play games on their phones all night.
