    Pros

stock plan, decent pay, benefits, overtime

    Cons

at the plant level where I was; filthy, nasty smells that cling to your clothes, corporate does NOT care about you as long as their pockets are lined--it's too big of a corporation. Plant level---you have to be a yes person to go up higher. The most important advice I was told----do not EVER tell the truth--they don't like that! Yep, it's true

    Advice to Management

You know what's really going on at the plants but yet you choose to turn a blind eye to it all & lose some very good workers who cared about their job ....... all for the $$$$$ in your pockets. Get some integrity!

I worked at Tyson Fresh Meats full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The pay is good for someone with little education or experience. The overtime can really add up. Average benefits. And certainly a chance to practice your foreign language skills.

    Cons

Hard to have a life. I worked second shift and rather than getting finished at 12:30 am, it was usually 1:30-2:30. Also, during the fall you will be required to work most Saturdays. Many of the jobs are physically taxing. No, brutal is a better word. Repetitive motion injuries are common. My 18 months there resulted in 2 carpal tunnel surgeries and a disability settlement.

    Advice to Management

Avoid working your employees so many hours per week.
