    I worked at U-Haul full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Excellent benefits and potential for performance based monthly bonuses. Full-time employees receive company stock and can contribute to a 401k.

    Cons

Always looking for ways to be more efficient but sometimes too much as it cuts back on too many employee hours and affects customer service.

    Advice to Management

Be careful with cutting back too much on salaries and wages budgets

I have been working at U-Haul full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

It’s a good company with interest in their employees and flexible work schedule and benefit. Friendly co-workers and team atmosphere.

    Cons

Too much corporate confusion. The left hand doesn’t know what the right hand is doing. Always want more and more and never seems to come to a point of satisfaction with what the current situation is.

    Advice to Management

Yearly pay increases or employee reviews. Tell your employees job well done instead of constantly beating them up for areas that need improvement.

    Pros

Meeting new people moving into the area. Uniforms are provided. Learn to drive large trucks, install hitches, and tow trailers. No 2nd or 3rd shifts. Learn just about every aspect of a moving truck rental business.

    Cons

Angry customers trying to return a vehicle after the store is closed. Cleaning a truck after a disgusting persons mess. Had to work weekends. No overtime available.

    I worked at U-Haul part-time

    Pros

I had a great manager. Great opportunities if you want to pursue them. Mostly mechanical related.

    Cons

Very fast paced. You will constantly deal with customer after customer while they aren't at there best, because everyone you deal with is moving so most people are stressed out. You have to have a lot of patience with this position.

    Advice to Management

Find a better way to establish rental reservations. I hated telling a customer who had a reservation that their truck they reserved was not there.

    I have been working at U-Haul part-time

    Pros

*Can choose what weekend day I want off
    *Flexible schedule
    *work from home

    Cons

*The training was not what I thought. there was a lot of information just throwed out there and they expect for us to remember it. I had 2 different trainers. First week was ok but when I got to week 2 things that was told to me on week 1 was not true. My week trainer was really unable to answer our questions leaving us in the wind about some things. There are scripts when making your reservations as long as you stick to the script you are fine. The work is not hard and also, Its not hard to meet the sales goals. I have only been employed for a few weeks now and it is ok so far but do not expect to be here long. REALLY NO BENEFITS OR PTO available for the part timers.
