I worked at U-Haul part-time for more than a year

      Pros

The work eventually becomes second nature. If you can handle some customers upset, you’ll be fine. They have a lot of long-term employees which is surprising for the type of business.

      Cons

People pass off their responsibilities a lot, so be prepared to pass them back. They didn’t follow the no politics rule when I was there during the trump election, and that was rough. Some policies are meant to manipulate (ex. Letting people book unavailable things then calling back later so they already feel attached to a reservation).

      Advice to Management

Don’t allow people to bring their politics into the workplace. You might lose good employees. Also, know that people doing the same job will talk pay & act accordingly.

I have been working at U-Haul part-time for less than a year

        Pros

Work from home and pretty flexible if your part-time or flex employee, work-life balance good, management is good from my experience. Opportunity for growth is outstanding. Decent company to work for.

        Cons

Pay is low for what you deal with, and raises are scarce if at all unless you become a team lead or go into another department. I recommend transferring as soon as you hit your 6 months if you're looking for raises. Dealers from locations will overcharge customers or charge them incorrectly which frustrates customers and they can be rude and obnoxious to deal with. AHT is too low.

        Advice to Management

Provide more raises especially for those trained in multiple areas. Raise the AHT a little higher.

I have been working at U-Haul full-time for less than a year

        Pros

Good pay(especially Holliday pay), great people, jobs that teach you important skills such as working with people and doing maintenance on cars/ trucks

        Cons

Scheduling is difficult, and you will be expected to give up many of the days you want off.

        Advice to Management

My manager is a great guy. General advice for other managers is to focus on building trusting relationships with students.
