    I worked at U-Haul full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Great place to obtain customer service experience, Flexible work hours, early closing times, lots of opportunities for advancement within the company, good work-life balance.

    Cons

You have to be prepared to deal with unruly and indecisive customers. Equipment sometimes breaks down and staff is left to figure out how to accommodate customers, which can cause complaints, and arguments. Stressful situations WILL arise when renting out storage, trucks, support rental items, and even when selling hitches. Peak times can be stressful on employees because they can be flooded with truck returns at any given moment, and are expected to clean the rental equipment in timely fashion. Customer complaints are a given on a daily basis for both trucking and storage.

    Advice to Management

Advise your employees to communicate efficiently. Give them the proper training and information by communicating what stressful situations are like, and how they can be prevented. Don't allow new employees to figure things out on their own, because you'll most likely have an unhappy employee and therefore, unhappy customers.

    Pros

Worked here for a summer in reservations. Great people to work with for the most part.

    I worked at U-Haul part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The work flow was consistent and the people there were really great. I enjoyed that more than half the time the management was very understanding of changing schedules, etc.

    Cons

I suppose it would have to be with the work itself, being where I lived it was VERY hot on days doing this job and maybe on the sweltering days have the employee come in for five or ten minutes (unpaid or paid) to produce productivity because those days were VERY hard.

    Advice to Management

I'd say just be understanding of everyones situation and if someone is doing a great job let them know it really helps build moral.

    I worked at U-Haul full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

U-Haul's Web Team is a great place to work and has an internal culture that makes it feel much smaller than it actually is. The teams are close knit, well supported and encouraged to explore and use the latest technology. They understand and promote a positive work/life balance in a way not found at many other tech companies.

    Cons

The only complaint I ever had about U-Haul is that they do pay at he lower end of the pay scale for IT and software staff.

    Pros

Great hours, flexible, nice people to work with, good pay, useful training.

Not much to say other than it would be nice to be offered more than 20 hours a week. Other than that it's a wonderful place to work.
