I have been working at U.S. Bank full-time (More than 8 years)

    Pros

Good pension which they no longer offer. Retirement matching.

    Cons

They are short staff all the time. Been with the company twenties years. Not the same place. They are firing long term employees for reasons that are unbelievable. The health insurance is so expensive and does not cover. No one can afford to go. The leadership they hire is not qualified. The blind leading the blind. They are more worried about the stock holder profits then their employees anymore. I would not recommend anyone to work here anymore. They say they are the most ethical bank and what a joke that is. They turn their eyes away as long as they get their numbers.

    Advice to Management

Big boy club. Who you know whether you have experience or not.

    Pros

They are really big on customer service and they have fun campaigns and you have great opportunities to earn incentives.

    Cons

They have awful benefits for anyone not in management and they increase the cost over and above any raises you may get, so each year you actually make less than the year before.

    Advice to Management

When you claim to be ethical you should act like your ethical. Its more than just a word.

I worked at U.S. Bank as a contractor

    Pros

The people at US Bank are mature and very nice people. I enjoyed working with them. You won't find a yuppie population here.

    Cons

No opportunity to learn and add skills. Lower Management young and naive with too many groups/people to manage. The team lead, a know-it-all and age discriminating person, handed out work to those younger inexperienced contractors so as to not have any competition against themselves.

    Advice to Management

Recognize new talent coming in instead of relying on those that have worked there for 12 years -> who play the Martyr role, and because they believe in their mind that they are the only one that can do the job. They know it all, the are always one better than you, and they will hijack your conversations just to keep control.

I have been working at U.S. Bank full-time

    Pros

There are great customers and co-workers. I also like being able to save people money. The hours are good as well. Weekends and major holidays off is always a bonus.

    Cons

The pay is terrible and the incentive plan is a joke. The management is horrible and treats the employees badly. The sales goals are ridiculous and put far too much pressure on the staff to focus only on sales and not on the customers actual needs. The employees are always miserable and the work environment is unhealthy.

    Advice to Management

Hire better managers and hold them accountable.

    Cons

pay. I was the only employee at my branch with a college degree, I was the lowest paid and was given no compensation for having a college degree.
