I worked at U.S. Concrete full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Plenty of hours, money is good, supervisors are easy to work with, guaranteed 40 hours a week, quarterly $1000.00 attendance bonus.

    Cons

Old trucks, some trucks are not safe to operate on the road. The mechanic supervisor in the Fort Worth shop will down the truck and send you home rather than fix minor issues. Only one day off (Sunday) and no set schedule through the week.

I worked at U.S. Concrete full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Enjoyed the work and people. Working with other companies bought by U S Concrete.

    Cons

not a full-time job as there was only a 6 month contract.

    Advice to Management

All AP processors were very professional and were experienced. Manager was young and inexperienced as a manager. Tried to micro-manage the senior level AP Processors too much when it was unnecessary.

I have been working at U.S. Concrete full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Pay is okay for individual contributors.

    Cons

The IT department has many directors and manager, not many people doing day to day work. Individual contributors are required to work many hours while management leaves early.

    Advice to Management

Hire more individual contributors and less directors.

I worked at U.S. Concrete full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Safety is excessive but good, keeps everyone from getting hurt
Huge network nationwide of U.S.Concrete & Subsidiaries

    Cons

Dont get the feeling individuals matter to the company, in trying to save the company gave a work related accident 24 hours hoping it would get better and because of date on incident report the next day made them completely un-liable so all hospital bills and the pain I'll carry realistically the rest of my life they washed there hands of on a technicality. 6 months later long after I was due for my raise I was laid off with over 2 years loyalty to the company and no write ups to keep the man hired to be my helper with multiple write ups because of his minimal mechanic experience. Yards are equipped with full surveillance with a constant "big brother" feel just waiting to catch people slipping up, forgetting there PPE, just never any feeling of trust.

    Advice to Management

Reach out to more than just management in each yard, workers would like a voice without the fear of retaliation

    Cons

I have been working at U.S. Concrete full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great team to be a part of. Work can present challenges, but that's what makes it a great place to work. New challenges every day. Great leadership and support throughout the company. I wouldn't want to work anywhere else.

    Cons

I have yet to find a true "con" All industries have there challenges. Our only con is finding and retaining quality drivers in an aggressive market area where employment rates are at all time lows.

    Advice to Management

Keep up the great work! We are the industry leader for a reason. We have the best and brightest leadership group!
