I have been working at U.S. Pipe (More than a year)

    Pros

Great place to work. Local management cares about the employees and tries to do what they can to help you succeed. Lot's of hours if you like the money. Hard work, but again lots of hours. Good safety program.

    Cons

HR is a revolving door so it's tough to find someone who can get you what you need, but they always try. Some of the long term employees have a union entitlement attitude.

I have been working at U.S. Pipe (More than a year)

    Pros

Money to be made if your willing to work a lot of overtime

    Cons

Long hours to much mandatory overtime underpaid and they don't care about the workers will even fire them if the fault is theirs

    Advice to Management

Have better benefits and incentives for your workers and show more appreciation and hire more staff

I worked at U.S. Pipe (Less than a year)

    Pros

Great management, great benefits, great work environment. This is a great place to make a home.

    Cons

There are some cons to being a older company, like doing things a certain way because "that's the way it's always been done", but get the right ear and you can make changes.

    Advice to Management

Keep doing what you're doing; obviously people see the pros over the cons.

I worked at U.S. Pipe full-time (More than a year)

Six figure earning potential, due to six & seven day work weeks.

I worked at U.S. Pipe full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

The hourly pay is pretty good. That is really the only halfway decent thing I can think of to say about working at U.S. Pipe.

    Cons

The weekly total of work hours gets exhausting quick unless you're a robot. If you're a person who actually does your job and gives a 100% when you work, you'll be a rarity around this place.

    Advice to Management

Hire more people who do their jobs, unless y'all enjoy paying people who do as little as possible.

I have been working at U.S. Pipe full-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

    Good employees to work with.

    Cons

Management is a joke, HR is a bigger joke. Company is owned by investment group which results in extremely low pay for skilled labor. Company doesn't want you to think for yourself. When you get good skilled people they don't stay due to low pay and company finding more ways to take from employees than help them. I started in 2011 and make $15,000 a year less in 2015! Don't come here unless you just have to have something.

    Advice to Management

People who feel appreciated will do more than expected of them...management doesn't care!

I worked at U.S. Pipe full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

IIt was a pleasure to work at U.S. Pipe for 28 yrs. The people were very nice and as I said before I was able to learn and work in several departments at U.S. Pipe and meeting some very nice people.

Not that many Cons on the job, you have your problems with some of your employees but that applies in most Companies.

    Advice to Management

After over 100 yrs in operation U.S. Pipe was shut Down June 30th 2006 I was one of Five people who were able to stay until last days. No advice to management except I wish it was still there.
