I have been working at U.S. Pipe full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

    Insurance Benefits
People at branch level are great
    Variety of work duties

    Cons

Micro managing is insane - upper management on the fabrication side will lie to you while looking you straight in the eye. Very erratic, volatile, and unprofessional upper management. Do not reward hard workers and let slackers be slack. I do not suggest anyone work for this company at this time. At one time much better place to work however it is a company gone bad.
Raises are a joke 1-3% across board no matter what level worker you are - great or bad!

    Advice to Management

Get rid of the insane VP and some other upper mgmt before they run the business completely in the ground. Moral is at an all time low due to mgmt by intimidation and no appreciation for hard work at all in fabrication division of this company

    Pros

There are no pros only cons

    Cons

I worked for US Pipe for 1yr and its a really dangerous place to work because they allow actively using drug addicts to maintenance their machines and they know this could get some one killed

    Advice to Management

The onwers of the company needs to do a pop up drug test on everybody with out telling any one . Be prepared to replace a lot of your employees and if you keep going at the unknown rate you're going some one is going to get killed

    I worked at U.S. Pipe full-time

    Pros

Good pay for the area, but you earn the money you make. Lots of overtime pay. Good insurance at a reasonable cost.

    Cons

The overtime pay is good, but the hours are not usually optional. You are told you will be working, usually 6 days a week 10-12 hours a day, except during the shutdown periods when you have to apply for unemployment.

    Advice to Management

Don't trust everything a manager tells you. Listen to the people sometimes and understand many of the managers have been buddies for years and cover each other, not always for the good of the company.

I have been working at U.S. Pipe (More than a year)

    Pros

Great place to work. Local management cares about the employees and tries to do what they can to help you succeed. Lot's of hours if you like the money. Hard work, but again lots of hours. Good safety program.

    Cons

HR is a revolving door so it's tough to find someone who can get you what you need, but they always try. Some of the long term employees have a union entitlement attitude.
