    Pros

I worked at U.S. Security Associates full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The pay is reasonable for the work. There is always work to be done.

    Cons

Paperwork often misplaced; you may have to fill them out over and over again. State regulations broken a number of times in regards to firearms. Firearm training was an absolute joke; one of our guards literally shot the light box and still got certified. Regional management was negligent to a dangerous level, but they have issues filling positions across the board.

    Advice to Management

Hire more competent supervisors. Lost documents and missing hours everywhere.

I worked at U.S. Security Associates full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The SLC branch owner, Wayne is a nice but firm guy and he does all he can to get you from average joe to security guard in no time. He even paid for my security license as long as I agreed for him for at least 6 months. Most of the employees are nice as long as you do your part to work as a team.

    Cons

Definitely high turnover. I found another security company that had much better wages and better sites to work at. Site managers range from horrible to okay. Their only tactic to get their security contracts is to be the lowest bidder, so yeah, don't expect a lot of pay or high quality sites to work at. Also, you need to basically have no life to work for them because of how much your days will vary, which is perfect if you're single and don't go to college.

    Advice to Management

They went from nice to hostile as soon as I told them I was leaving. It was a shame because I worked long enough to pay off the security license they got for me. All I ask is for you guys not to get so angry as soon as somebody makes the decision to leave. That put a big dent on the otherwise smooth employment experience I had there.
