I worked at UBS full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Clear strategy and communication to employees; Nice people to work with, flexible hours. Amenable work environment, nice office locations and perks (although all this is contingent on location and varies by department.)

    Cons

For a global company, the benefits are horrible! Not a clear career path for advancement.

    Advice to Management

Don't nickel and dime your employees -- their health should mean more than the bottom line of cost.

I have been working at UBS full-time

    Pros

Friendly people. Most people are pretty friendly. Senior managers make themselves available and happy to grab a cup of coffee and talk to the young folks.

    Cons

Culturally, there's hardly happy hour gatherings. Holiday party, no guests allowed (so no s/o)

Vacation time is is normal but some of the other perks such as employer match for 401k and helping to pay for education is minimal

    Advice to Management

It seems that UBS FS is on the right track with its new direction to retain financial advisers instead of chasing new ones. It would make sense to re-think approach to non FA employees as well. Many companies often way more company match and education reimbursement.
