I worked at UBS (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good name value in the job market.

    Cons

Worked on a floor with 1 person. Not good leadership. Was a mule.

    Advice to Management

Have a more lively office, have less of a demeaning culture, and thank God you fired my boss.

I have been working at UBS full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Good hours. In general you have a good work/life balance. Good benefits plan (Health, dental, etc). The younger folks in the office are friendly and create a good environment.

    Cons

Salary is so bad. They will try to pay you the least minimum possible and they will try to keep you at that level as long as possible. Your work will not be appreciated. Even when when you meet the impossible requests, you will always be behind. Work environment that they create is not friendly at all.

    Advice to Management

Pay your people better. Treat them better. Maybe then you will not have over 40% of the people working for you wanting to leave.

I worked at UBS as an intern (Less than a year)

    Pros

Staff was friendly, senior management team was very supportive. Definitely significant opportunity for advancement.

    Cons

Very high turnover rate and could have a more structured analyst program. The financial services industry has ups and down and i get that the cyclial nature of the industry probably had an effect.

    Pros

Upward mobility encouraged, support and assistance is top notch, really know how to assist with business development and in improving client relations

    Cons

location and traffic are the only real downsides. parking can be a hastle and they don't reimburse for hot lanes.

    Pros

Certain people in the office really do try to make this office a better place to work with the occasional cupcake days or free lunches

    Cons

Most people are not happy here, though this may just be a consequence of a bad market regardless of where you work

    Pros

Great environment to work in. I really enjoyed the people I worked with. I found information sharing to be welcomed and any question I ever had was welcomed. Great place to start a career. A lot of very intelligent people will surround you.

    Cons

Dont have a lot of negatives to say. At times there can be some oversight between upper level management and some of the lower level employees.

    Advice to Management

Try to relate more to employees and keep them in the loop.

    Pros

big bank, great place to network, people are always willing to answer your questions. Senior vice-presidents were very nice. Good place to gain experience and learn investment strategies

    Cons

growth within the industry is limited, can be stressful at times in order to meet client deadlines, not alot of downtime sometimes alot of filing when there is not much work

    Advice to Management

A training seminar in the beginning for the interns, overall it was pretty well organized but wish they have intern more involved.
