I worked at UC Davis part-time

    Pros

Okay pocket change, enough for the average starving college student to buy CoHo bagels and Redbulls.

    Cons

Hours and pay weren't that great

I worked at UC Davis full-time

    Pros

Wealth of knowledge and vibrant atmosphere due to the students. Normally never a dull day with campus activity and the town is fairly nice as well.

    Cons

Job will depend on the manager you get. Lots of mismanagement of funds and poor goals set by leadership. Many people are focused on individual goals that do not benefit the University or the students.

    Advice to Management

Fight for your staff and value the work that they contribute and do not hesitate to compensate them for their efforts.

I have been working at UC Davis part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Plenty of TAship opportunities and time to do research,
Learn new stuff and/or reinforce your knowledge,
Interact with students to gain teaching skills,
Research labs to gain skills for industry,
Peaceful and beautiful town, no real traffic other than that of bikes,
Wide range of studies conducted means more collaboration,
Close to Silicon Valley and California's capital.

    Cons

Relatively less number of research grants available,
Rent is relatively high due to demand by increasing number of students,
The town is small, so it could become boring after one or two years.

    Advice to Management

Listen to students more please and get more research grants!
