I worked at UC Davis part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The hours were great and management was very understanding about scheduling between class and other commitments. References were also very great here.

    Cons

Some days would go by without much to do, but it was fine. There was also not a lot of long term advancement.

    Advice to Management

    Offer more opportunities

I worked at UC Davis part-time

    Pros

Communication was great, boss was really understanding of me as a student. Made my own hours and never had to work more than I wanted.

    Cons

Won't really have a great setup for design work. If you have your own laptop, it would probably be better than what they provide for you.

    Advice to Management

Provide better perks for a designer (working on a Mac, maybe)

I have been working at UC Davis part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

work around your schedule, paid prep time every week, relatively high paying for an on campus job ($14.67/hr)

    Cons

requires high grades in ALL of a courses progression (ie to tutor chemistry, must do well in 2A, 2B, and 2C)

    Advice to Management

maybe try to avoid scheduling 4hr blocks in drop-in assignments, the tutor can get mentally exhausted by the end
