I have been working at UC Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Challenging work at UCMC. Its not easy but its rewarding. Anyone can work at a community hospital. If you really want to excel, work for UCMC, you will learn a lot more, be challenged daily.

    Cons

This is a complex medical system taking care of the most complex patients. Its not easy working here. But the people who excel, are up for challenges with great rewards.

    Advice to Management

Focus on the necessary - develop easier and more efficient processes that still maintain excellence.

I have been working at UC Health full-time

    Pros

Great health benefits and generous PTO structure.

    Cons

Senior Leadership (lack of support and they undervalue all employees except for themselves).

    Advice to Management

Instead of putting patients first, try putting employees first and by default patient satisfaction will improve tremendously.

I worked at UC Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Benefits are adequate. Gift shop is nice.

    Cons

Management is rude, condescending and out of touch with employee and department needs. HR communicates poorly with department managers, resulting in misinformation to employees. Antiquated facilities and equipment makes it diddicult to perform duties. if you have a disability, don't bother applying. Culture is poor, if not unbearable.

    Advice to Management

    Get a new manager.

I have been working at UC Health part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

The best facilities I've ever seen at a hospital

    Cons

I'm not making much money only $15

    Pros

    Great atmosphere, people and schedule

    Cons

They don't pay to keep good employees. They hire in new staff at higher rate. If you leave and come back you can get more money. They need to pay to keep good employees

    Advice to Management

PAY good people to stay. Pay them and compete with the other healthcare facilities in the area

I have been working at UC Health full-time (More than 10 years)

    Pros

Many of my coworkers are awesome. There are many pockets of good managers who put their heart into their patients, staff, and processes.

    Cons

Senior Leadership is not in touch with the operations of the hospitals or the market. They are not investing in important areas. They are busy creating new C-level jobs and mandating associates to follow the new PRIIDE values (though they couldn't pick one "I" so there's 2). They certainly do not walk the talk.

    Advice to Management

More like advice to the board: Weed out the ego's and find real leadership. Revamp the entire senior leadership team.

    Pros

Location is great. Great benefits such as tuition reimbursement and PTO. Lots of employee discounts. Many staff members are Pleasant to work with.

    Cons

Full of Nepotism and favoritism. Employees are underpaid. New employees make more than employees who have been employed with the company for many years. salaries need to be reevaluated.

    Advice to Management

Value and respect your employees. Pay employees fairly.

I worked at UC Health full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

I believe strongly in the mission, vision and values of UC Health, which made my work of sharing that vision & mission through marketing fun. The people I worked with were wonderful, enterprising and felt like family.

    Cons

Marketing leadership was run by a tyrant. She prided herself on "making sure the right people were at the table" for large decisions, but oftentimes, she made sure she sat at that table alone. She didn't support or appreciate her staff and lost a great deal of talented staff during her leadership.

    Advice to Management

Recognize that the problem wasn't in the talented staff leaving in droves, but that the problem comes from the top.

    Advice to Management

A lot of restructuring during my years there.
