I have been working at UCHealth as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

University of Colorado Hospital has some of the best learning opportunities. I love my team and I'm so happy to be apart of this community!

    Cons

I feel like new grad nurses are only paid a few more dollars than ACPs and CNAs.

    Advice to Management

    Pros

I love the patients, co-workers, and my direct manager.

    Cons

Despite the hospital system having money, they still do not pay social workers adequately. While it is still more than social workers get paid in some places, I still struggle financially. As social workers are highly educated and skilled professionals, this is not acceptable at UCHealth or anywhere else.

It is a large organization that is growing so quickly it cannot keep fully staffed.

I have been working at UCHealth full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Very EVidenced Based practice Center. Cutting edge of treatment. Big on employee engagement. Magnet hospital. Good benefits, employee bonus.

    Cons

Not many downsides. University is an excellent place to work. Biggest complaint would be the pay. Like most places in CO for RNs they can not compete with other states, and with the rising cost of living in CO it’s difficult to afford.

    Advice to Management

No advice. If they could increase REgistered Nurse salaries and CErtified nurse aid salaries that would be helpful.

I have been working at UCHealth full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Large presence in the Colorado market and rapidly growing footprint. Overall vision is progressive, and plenty of access to peer rounding. They take care of the employees through insurance pretty well. Overall a great place for patients to get care.

    Cons

Physician experience is dependent on location, not all locations are equal. Some locations provide excellent resources and support for physicians, but some don’t. My location struggles for basic needs to be met, and there seems to be little progress in rectifying this.

    Advice to Management

If UC Health is going to advertise itself as one system why not create the same as experience for physicians and patients at all their locations.?
