I have been working at UCLA Health full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

Public sector job with great retirement, insurance, benefits. Great location.

    Cons

Extreme politics. You'll be treated like a developer and used by lateral people for petty interests. No flexible hours in most departments. Most of the work is ad-hoc. You can be an individual contributor but cannot advance your career here. Pathetic facilities - cockroach infested basements, lack of basic needs - water, coffee. Restrooms are worst than public bus station ones.

    Advice to Management

Please hire competent technical leaders who are non-political.
