I worked at UCLA part-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Amazing students. A lot of freedom in designing a curriculum. Reasonable pay.

    Cons

Adjunct professing, in general, is hard. All universities should devote more resources to hiring more tenure track professors.

I have been working at UCLA full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

People are kind, professional, and helpful. They are doing solid scientific research. I respect most of them as a scientist.

    Cons

NIH funding is shrinking and everyone in trouble now. Many labs have no money to hire techs or postdocs and to work for only two days per week. It is unfortunate that federal government do not care about scientific research nowadays.
