I have been working at UCSF Medical Center and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals full-time (More than 5 years)

    Pros

Good benefits. Retirement benefits after you are vested five years in.
Can work in other state departments as a UCSF contractor (e.g., state public health). Don't know much about working at UCSF proper; just at state dept. I have also appreciated that they have been very vocal in support of undocumented students during the current attacks from the White House.

    Cons

Travel reimbursement process is cumbersome and bureaucratic

I worked at UCSF Medical Center and UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospitals full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

Great Environment. The employees at Mission Bay really care about doing their best, and maintaining a clean positive environment.

    Cons

UCSF is a large bureaucratic organization, and things can move very slowly, particularly job advancement, and new positions.

    Advice to Management

Focus on career paths for employees, and continuing to grow as an organization.
