    Pros

Good people work here., and care about patients. Responsibilities vary greatly within the same job title so you can find something that suits you.

    Cons

Some MDs are crazy busy, meaning their support staff are overwhelmed. Middle management has little power to enact changes, while upper management doesn't have any understanding of the day to day.

    Pros

You would learn a lot from different PI, researchers and doctors, and it is good for pre-med students who wants to go to the medical school.

    Cons

Workload is high, less training, demanding

Good mission, department management needs work

    Business Outlook

    Pros

strong job security, and there's always something to do.

    Cons

Any changes needed take forever to be implemented. Hiring process also seems to be backwards: things need to be going well in order to hire additional personnel, not that the department is understaffed and burning out.

Down the Drain with New Management

Apr 8, 2022 - Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist (CRNA)
    Recommend
    CEO Approval
    Business Outlook

    Pros

Great variety of cases especially if you're looking for challenging ones to keep up your skills

    Cons

    1. Exorbitant parking costs that you are pretty much required to pay as CRNAs have to staff all the campuses within the city 2. No paid CEUs 3. You will be subject to timecard audits and will be heavily scrutinized by new management in an effort to cut costs instead of improving systemic inefficiencies. 4. Installment of "lead CRNAs" for micromanagement purposes. 5. New manager is vindictive, a bully, and completely incapable of performing the job. 6. Slow accrual of vacation time for the first 10 years of your career 7. Upper management will do nothing to elevate CRNAs. Instead, they have been doing everything to break them down. It's resulted in a mass exodus and deplorable morale. 8. New manager will gaslight your concerns and will continue to make up arbitrary rules that serve to further cultivate a toxic work environment.

    Golden handcuffs

    Mar 24, 2022 - Registered Nurse

    Business Outlook

    Pros

Bedside -> mandatory Breaks. High Pay. Regulated Ratios. Everything is better once you step inside of here. Mecca. Complicated and interesting patients, will be busy. Tertiary hospital. Different campuses Parnassus, Mission Bay (newer but oncology and women's health/peds), Mount Zion with plenty of job opportunities and growth for inpatient + outpatient

    Cons

Parnassus campus is old, tight ICU spaces, and if your coworkers never worked anywhere else, they'll have that crappy entitlement view. Pension isn't free/traditional (7% of paycheck). Health insurance isn't free, can be costly 200$ biweekly. Parking not free 20-30$/day.
