pay is terrible and culture is terrible

      Pros

decent schedule, majority of people working there are great and easy to get along with.

      Cons

the pay is literally the worst in the industry and the corporate "butt clowns" don"t care about you or your family all they care about is whether they make a buck or not. I will put it this way, UFP made roughly 2.2 BILLION DOLLARS last year but were literally too cheap to pay for my wife's $12 ticket to attend the company picnic. I was required to pay for it myself. UFP is all about profit and if that means paying the people who work their butts off to make that profit next to nothing they have no problem doing so. I will never recommend this as a place to work to anyone and i feel sorry for the people that have been tricked into working for them and actually believing that they care about anything other than their own pockets. This company is full of nothing but incompetent, Butt kissing, back stabbing " leaders" IF YOU ARE CONSIDERING WORKING HERE DO NOT DO IT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

      Company is good BUT...

      Pros

This is a great fast pace challenging environment and the plant is good safety oriented. Some personnel are respectful and few good co-workers.

      Cons

Some people in the production area treat you bad if you do not like them. They act like that just because they have around 8 year with UFP. If they don't like you, THEY WILL SAWING OFF YOUR FLOOR, talking bad to the supervisor behind you, BE CAREFUL with this mexican people, specially their boss, 'cause he doesn't care how much you work your butt off, he only care what the others say about you. Even if you work hard and demonstrate you like what you do, they will kick you out.

      Sales Trainee

      Pros

Great salary, benefits, car reimbursement and cell phone.

      Cons

They hire sales trainee's to come in and hopefully move their way up, but then use them for "b.s. work". I was in the program for 8 months learning the ins and out of UFP and how day to day sales works, but was ultimately let go due to lack of profit at the plant. I would recommend going into an interview asking them a lot of questions on what you will be doing and for how long. The sales trainee program is so unorganized that not even the plant managers to the full structure of the process.

I learned a lot working at UFP--but I didn't always enjoy the experience.

      Pros

Great people--Very dedicated to the company and they tend to stay for a long time Dynamic environment--new projects and opportunities pop up frequently

      Cons

Main focus is on sales--operational improvements play second fiddle Most people at UFP have limited experience outside of UFP--improvements and innovations from other industries aren't embraced Company strategy and direction seem to be missing
