    Pros

    Large, lots of clients, variety of jobs, all over the world. Recruited out of college so they have plenty of entry level work

    Cons

    No room to grow, company is set up by region, so you only get supported by regional staff and they would never move you, especially if the client liked you

    Advice to Management

    Be open to moving staff to other clients. People don't stay at the same jobs anymore, so if you don't want them to leave the company, let them grow

    staff it better with on site people to deal with the client's side of the deal

    Pros

    Good Mid-Mid+Level Management Staff, Good Support staff at the regional level. I had good dealings with District offices. No complaints there.

    Cons

    Contract Janitorial accounts get beaten up by clients. Always pushing for more than is contractually paid for. Not enough pushback since the client can dump you for the next cheapest contractor.

    Advice to Management

    Don't offer 5 star service for a 2-3 star price. Always moving the bar on your staff makes for chaos.

    I liked working for UGL Unicco.

    Cons

    Working with other contractors was a challange..Need to work on comunacation skills. Not always on the same page..

    I worked at UGL Services full-time

    Pros

    This company has a very good work schedule, especially for individuals that have school-age kids. The pay helps a lot with bills.

    Cons

    A lot of the work is strenuous, and there are also some individuals that do have attitudes towards workers cleaning their areas.

    Advice to Management

    Check on your employees more, and to bring supplies to workers in a timely manner.

    can't think of any pros for this employer and this position. engage in employment at your own risk.

    Cons

    Constant mergers make for confusion. No brand identity. Very top heavy management. Everyone has a title. For a while they were named UGL Limited, which stands for United Group Limited Limited. That's all you need to know about leadership.

    I have been working at UGL Services full-time

    Pros

    The people we work with are great to be around and are skilled at what they do. We are always up-dating equipment that's obsolete to maintain a modern industrial plant. Safety is job one.

    Cons

    Be prepared for after hours, weekends and holidays on-call rotations lasting one week in duration, every 3 to 5 weeks.

    Advice to Management

    Work with the employees to bring out the best they have to offer to the company and to them selves.

    Pros

    The benefits are good, the compensation is competitive and the support staff (anyone not a broker) truly make the work environment bearable.

    Cons

    Upper Management can't seem to get it together when interfacing with the the people that make their organization run relatively smoothly. I've had to deal with upper management making bad decisions regarding the timing of deliverables and witnessed the total mismanagement of clients' expectations. Most of the time I've had to dance around a manager who was very poor at controlling his own crazy mood swings - one minute you're on the receiving end of easy praise, the next you're wondering if someone has pissed in his coffee.

    Advice to Management

    Leave the ego at home please. Trying to win business with the best team and materials produced with the limited time and resources available is tough enough without having to make sure that someone's thumb was stuck in the pie too (- and this person had no real input whatsoever to make a positive impact on the meeting).

    I was treated fairly and I was treated like a person.

    None, other than they are no longer open where i live.

    Advice to Management

    Be careful who you hire for Site Managers.
