I worked at UK Power Networks as an intern (More than a year)

    Pros

    Great Incentives and Perks
    Good Training
Good Variety to work (If you ask!!!!)
    Some interesting Projects (Central London)
Can work from home if you ask your line Manager

    Cons

Some of the work mundane and disengaging
Aging Employees who sometimes appear negative
Non-Flexible Working Hours (generally speaking for engineers)

    Advice to Management

Line Mangers ensure the work distributed is engaging and meanful to the team,/ department. Don't give out dreary, dry, left over work that no one else wants to do to Interns!!

I have been working at UK Power Networks full-time (More than a year)

    Pros

UKPN is owned by a large Chinese base investment group called CKI group. This gives me a lot of confidence that the company has a lot of financial muscle backing it.

I've worked here for 16 months. In that time I have changed roles as a chance to develop my skills, and now been offered a paid part time MSc course to help me develop my career further. Not bad to me.

    Cons

Regulated company. So you could be in department that is required to make 'efficiency' cuts, every time a price control review comes around. However if you're good at your job , then it probably shouldn't affect you.

    Advice to Management

Use mid level managers to help improve efficiency, cutting back on staff and offering redundancy is not the only way to our perform the regulatory deals.

Middle management was supportive for career development of the younger employees
CEO and the executive team are good at what they do and approachable

    Cons

Nothing much to add for cons

    Advice to Management

Good luck for the IT transformation
