I worked at UKMail Group full-time (Less than a year)

    Pros

It was close to home so not much travel, the service was a great service but flawed I felt in a modern digital world.

    Cons

No atmosphere in the office, no communication between other staff, software to send contracts out was very long winded and clunky.

    Advice to Management

I wouldn't know where to start

    Pros

working nights is nice, good people around you, always working with my staff making sure all good, great job on nights.
hours fit well 2200 pm to 0700 am

    Cons

most site managers have no clue, treating people bad for the mess up they do
site managers never give that big extra,so never even say good morning to the staff
shameful really, being the higher you are the more you should understand treating people with respect is key to keeping good people. i have seen somethings over the last 20 years

    Advice to Management

be more respectful of staff ,we are all here to do a job no matter of you title.

    Pros

The job is ok, the hours are ok the distribution hubs are generally easily accessible,

    Cons

Some of the line managers have absolutely no idea about transport, legality of tachograph rules, vehicle legality (roadworthiness)
All they are interested in is how the parcels / items get to their destination
Salary not in keeping with competition

    Advice to Management

Learn more about the law regarding HGV / tachograph / roadworthiness of vehicles instead of expecting drivers to carry on regardless
    Listen to your staff
Act on complaints that are made internally

    Pros

Im sure i could make some up if i tried

    Cons

HR non existent, never become a manager for them. No support and left out to dry. HR needs a complete people change at the top. If you ever get offered a position, run run run

    Advice to Management

    Resign

    Pros

Not sure there is any. People that you are working with maybe even half of them are fed up of the place.

    Cons

Awful management, bullies. Talk to people like they are idiots, never get praise, in fact total opposite I once got praise and the site manager told them not to praise me. Never sympathise, if you are ill they will accuse you of lying under any circumstance. Condescending management. Upper management never engage with the staff not even hello. No scope for progression at all. The number of people who go off sick with depression is scary. Profit seems to be the upmost important factor to them, they will put it before anything, they are kind of brush it under the carpet people and deal with it when it arrises. Do not care about the customers unless its a monetary loss for them. No or very little bonus. All this has a knock on effect with everyone who is involved there makes it a terrible place to work. Worst 5 years of my life.

    Advice to Management

Think about your customers and employees more than shareholders and making a profit. Start talking to your staff and see what they think, listen and act upon what they say.

I worked at UKMail Group (Less than a year)

    Pros

There are no pros at all ... If zero stars were possible I would have selected zero

    Cons

Bullying management, depressed, stressed out staff, no duty of care at all. Abusive customers, terrible processes, all the decent staff have left/are leaving. This is worst IT dept I have worked at in over 20 years in IT. When I left after being treated terribly for 5 weeks, they they refused to pay me for work done ... It really doesn't get any worse than this ... Avoid working here ... Especially in IT

    Advice to Management

Stop bullying your staff, take care of those who are stressed out and demotivated ... Ask why are all your staff leaving? Why are all your customers manically unsatisfied? Treat your staff and your customers with respect ... Without either of these things you have no business !!

    Pros

The staff are all hard working. Woking to go out of their way abd user friendly

    Cons

Management is too far removed so have no clue what is happening on the floor and how to enhance customer experience.

    Advice to Management

Roll up your sleeves and listen to your staff
