I have been working at UMBC part-time (More than 3 years)

    Pros

I've greatly enjoyed working as a tour guide within UMBC Admissions. The job is flexible and the office is a wonderful community.

    Cons

If you are one that likes to work a set schedule or guaranteed hours, this job might be a bit inconvenient for you. Tour schedules vary from week to week.

    Advice to Management

I like how training is currently done, and the fact that newer tour guides get to shadow older ones until they feel ready to go.

I have been working at UMBC part-time

    Pros

As a student employee the hours are flexible and not too much is expected. I have learned a lot about networks even though I don't want to pursue it as a career.

    Cons

The wireless is terrible and its been getting worse as the years have gone on. Higher ups think its just tons of coverage issues, but it seems to be something central that they cant find an answer to.

    Advice to Management

Find a way to fix the wireless, but other than that keep being friendly to students. Most of the environment is very good, its just boring waiting around for things to break and then everything breaking at once.
