I have been working at UMIACS (More than a year)
Knowledge and advancement are a plus
Parking sucks, multiple buildings can be a pain
I worked at UMIACS part-time
Flexible hours, lots of hands-on Windows and Unix based learning opportunities, hands-on work with baremetal servers and server rooms, actual impactful work.
Pay does not necessarily reflect the technical nature of the job, the building is dreary and gets monotonous fast, plus is difficult to navigate.
I worked at UMIACS as an intern (More than a year)
They have exceptional professors researching very interesting topics
they don't pay interns that much or not at all
